The location was beautiful, with wonderful views of the sea. The cottage itself was just perfect - had a fabulous kitchen which made cooking a pleasure and the log fire in the huge but still cosy lounge. The main bathroom upstairs was great, with a spa bath and rainfall shower. Overall we were blown away, from the young children who came to visit, to the grand parents, everyone thought it was wonderful. A massive thank you to the smashing owner too, always a moment away if you had any questions or needs, and a good giggle too.

This cottage is so beautiful and quiet, the garden is lovely and the location is superb. We have stayed here before and chose to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary with our family in this lovely cottage, and we couldn't have chosen a better place! The Country Park in Pembrey is a great place to explore and the beach is so big and a great place for dog walking. We love this cottage and can't wait to come back again in October!

Wow, loved staying in this cottage! The location was simply stunning, stuck in the middle of the Welsh countryside with amazing views of the Bristol Channel and the River Loughor. The cottage itself felt very homely and was extremely well resourced and to finish it all off there was the hot tub :)

The cottage location is perfect. The views are amazing even while sat in the hot tub! The write up should advise that while it is a Grade II listed cottage this comes with its problems. The kitchen is large but there is no space for groceries as all the cupboards are too full, plus this room is the dampest. The sofas are as tired as the kitchen and down stairs loo. Logs for the fire were not provided and it was chilly in an evening. The fridge doesn't seem to work very well, not very cold. Usually when we stay in cottages there is a welcome tray or at least a bottle of milk, plus kitchen cloths, hand wash, washing liquid.etc but there was nothing here. The bathroom upstairs is lovely, very clean & modern and the bedrooms are comfy. The windows are low so unless you sit on the floor you can not see the stunning views from upstairs. On arrival we were disappointed with the smell and cleanliness. We had to clean the fridge freezer out of old food and sour cream. The kitchen hasn't got anything decent to cook on everything is chard or scratched, or tainted with the damp. It would have been nice to return to the cottage as it has a wonderful aspect but the interior needs a make over.

July 2012

February 2012
We loved the cottage which was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. We particularly liked the large kitchen which had a superb range of equipment and a large table we could all sit around. There are fantastic views over the estuary and out to sea which unfortunately were obscured for much of our stay as the weather was not good! The owners are extremely helpful and live close at hand so can deal with any problems promptly. We can't wait to go back.

This has been one of our best holidays and we would throughly recommend it, we hope to return again.

Well where do I start. We drove up the road to amazing views onto the secluded little cottage. On arrival we were greeted by Kevin who made us feel at home. The cottage is stunning in every way, the kitchen is a dream with every gadget you could think of, enough crockery and cutlery to feed the village. Every bit of the cottage was spotless with very authentic detail. Oh and the log fire ... simply stunning at night, even fresh logs delivered daily. Surrounding wow, what a view be it either sitting in the garden or chilling in the hot tub its amazing, even the pigs sheep and horses put a smile on your face each morning. All in all best place we have ever stayed and would love to return! Infact didnt want to leave!

Myself, my husband, our 4 year old son and our dog stayed here for Christmas week and were delighted with the cottage and its secluded location with amazing views (weather permitting!). The owners had decorated the cottage with christmas decorations very tastefully and there was a lovely real christmas tree too :) Aside from a few niggles with ceiling leaks in kitchen and porch area during strong winds and rain we couldn't fault the cottage for comfort, space and style. The kitchen is very impressive and I loved the new range cooker so much I would've smuggled it home in our car if I thought it would fit lol! ;) The only improvement would be a bigger fridge freezer. The bedrooms are very spacious with lots of storage however there was no hair dryer provided so had to improvise with the little electric fan heater instead. Our son loved having his own ensuite shower room but wasn't impressed with sharing his room with 'the strange man in the corner" which well & truly spooked me out for the rest of our stay lol! If i was to be really picky, the only room which could do with renovating slightly is the downstairs shower room as it doesn't quite compare to the other very stylish bathrooms. Our dog loved Pembrey beach splashing in the sea and chasing the birds :) in fact it's probably the best holiday he's ever had! He had a great time playing footie in the garden too, although it might be worth noting that the fencing here is only post and rail so any mischievous doggies or kids could still escape. It might also be worth mentioning that due to its position on top of a very long, steep mountain that the local pubs/restaurant are not really walkable unless you are super fit and don't have any young kids in tow. We drove to the Ashburnham Hotel for lunch one day but they had to close due to an electrical fault so we tried the pub next door which was very dated and disappointing. I don't think there are any decent places to eat/drink in Pembrey at all, according to the cottage literature the nearest place is in Llanelli. Overall a fab holiday in a fab cottage with a FAB hot tub! On a clear night, star gazing in the hot tub is an absolute must! Just a shame the local village isn't a bit more appealing to make it the perfect holiday destination.

Hot tub has fabulous views across the Estuary to the Gower, and made this a special holiday, despite some bad weather! Spotlessly clean cottage. Very large well equipped kitchen. Bathrooms lovely. The garden is really beautiful and well maintained. Would be a great cottage for a romantic break, but equally the neighbouring pigs and ponies and great beaches will appeal to families with young children. Our teens were happy as there was lots of space. We also took 2 dogs who had the best holiday ever.
