Perfect for walkers, cyclists, families, friends or a romantic break, this semi-detached holiday cottage has been renovated to a fantastic standard and offers spacious rooms which are full of character and original features, as well as modern appliances and up to date touches. There is a riding school situated next door should you have an interest in horses. The heart of Durham is just a 20-minute drive away, where guests are offered a plethora of attractions to visit, including the famous cathedral, Tanfield Railway, castle and Gala Theatre. Packed with top quality restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars, Durham is a thriving city with plenty of entertainment for all year round; visit the bi-annual Lumiere Festival, annual book week, jazz festival, arts festival, miners gala and many more free attractions, as well as the weekly farmers market. Enjoy a little retail therapy with some beautiful boutiques along with many high street names and designers.
Beamish Museum is just 1 mile away and offers a brilliant day out for all ages. A little further afield but still within an easy 20-minute drive is the thriving city of Newcastle upon Tyne, with its historic bridges and architecture as well as many attractions. The Metrocentre is nearby and guests will find themselves spoilt for choice with designer brands, high street stores, cinema, bowling alley and restaurants. Within a one hour drive there is the opportunity to visit the magnificent Northumbrian coastline, Northumberland National park, Holy Island, Alnwick, Hadrian’s Wall, the Scottish Borders, Durham Dales and Cumbria.
