A lovely, clean, well stocked residence. On the door step of Caernarfon Castle and the Menai Strait. Lots to do and see. Close enough to pubs and restaurants to walk within 5 minutes but not too noisy to keep you awake. The whole family loved it!

The property was one of the best equipped and cleanest we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot. The location was perfect for all attractions and the views of the sea were a bonus. The owners were friendly, pleasant and relaxed.

In a wonderful location, and the selection of toys/games/DVD's kept the kids happy on wet weather days. The property was very well equipped, including washing powder for washing machine, tablets for dishwasher and cafetiere. Daughter loved crabbing off the slipway near property.

Most enjoyable holiday, made perfect with the comfortable cottage, and friendly introduction at the start of our holiday. Pleased that we did not need to use our car because we were near to shops and restaurants.

The location of the property in the middle of the town meant it was very convenient to walk to the wide variety of eateries and pubs. The sunset views over the bay from the promenade were stunning!

A lovely house; very central, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. A lovely bottle of wine, fresh flowers and a yummy pudding left in the fridge for us! We hope to come back very soon! Thank you.

The cottage is in a great location near the town centre, with easy access to parks, restaurants, shops and the sea. Good road links to everywhere. A good property.

The cottage was light and airy, well presented, and the owner was welcoming. The bottle of wine was most welcome as were the profiteroles in the fridge. The cupboard was well stocked with basic goods. The Black Boy Inn is a delight, we can highly recommend it, and it is in easy walking distance of the cottage.

We loved Caernarfon itself and the close proximity to other beautiful places in Wales. The tandem ride along a great cycling path was excellent fun! The open mike night at the pub in the square and the live band at 'The Anglesey' pub on the promenade are worth a look.

The property was very clean, very nicely furnished and was in an excellent location. It had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Extras included an ironing board and iron should you need them and the cupboards were well stocked with cleaning products and miscellaneous store cupboard ingredients. The owner was very helpful on arrival and very kindly provided wine, beer and pastries!!!

The Welsh scenery (of course) is stunning. Restaurants, both expensive and low cost, are consistently good with quality food, well cooked, and good service. The beaches are excellent and we spotted some interesting wildlife.

The situation of the house was fantastic. Being in the middle of the castle battlements made the house very special. Caernarfon was a great place to visit.

Great ancient surroundings, the house itself carefully restored, situated in the city centre a few paces from the sea promenade. A place to feel in the centre of everything but very homely too.

The property was situated within the walls of Caernarfon Castle, and was in walking distance of all amenities. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well stocked, including a welcome bottle of wine and profiteroles. Only two problems, one was an enormous bed in a small bedroom, difficult to access for an elderly mobility challenged visitor, and the lack of wardrobes.

We spent a weekend in Caernarfon as a base for fell walking in Snowdonia. Porth Yr Aur Bach was a great location, easy to find inside the city walls and it had everything we needed. The property is well laid out for big groups, with two rooms have two sets of single beds so for six blokes sharing it was spot on. Parking is a little awkward, you have to drive around the city walls to find it and hope there's a space next to the Anglesey pub. Other than that you're right in the centre of Caernarfon so can stroll to pubs and restaurants a-plenty and there's a big Morrisons just down the road too if stocking up on supplies. The owners are friendly and are just across the road if you need anything.

Comfortable, cosy, well equipped and well positioned. Good for walking into town or around the coast, and Caenarfon makes an ideal place to stay for exploring Snowdonia and around. Owners were friendly and helpful. Car parking can be quite a way away which didn't bother us but may be a problem for some - though you can drive right to the door for pick up and drop off etc. One of the showers might need looking at as was possibly a leak somewhere.

Wie had a couple of lovely days in this old town. You can walk everywhere, the house is just next to the old walls of the town. It is well renovated and furnished. A goood place to stay!

This is a great place to stay. Central to Caernarfon and all of its amenities. Parking is in a public car park a few minutes away, but this was not a problem for us at all. The accommodation is extremely well equipped. There were even wine and profiteroles in the fridge when we arrived. Beautifully clean. The wifi and Sky TV were a great bonus when travelling with a teenager. We booked for a week but we're unable to arrive until Sunday. The owner was very accommodating over key collection. The property would not be suitable for those with mobility problems or with toddlers due to the stairs. Great for a friends get away or a family with older children.

Porth yr Aur Bach had a superb location. The owner was very helpful in providing information about the town. We had no trouble in accessing free parking. The cottage was very clean, and had complimentary wine and profiteroles on arrival!

Located just inside the city wall, immediately giving access to the promenade along the Menai shore, this apartment is a lovely 3 bed arrangement with a lovely spacious bedroom on the top floor and two bedrooms on the first floor. The sitting room is comfortable with a TV/freeview/ DVD (nice selection of Dvds) and a well equip[ped kitchen. Plenty of crockery, pans etc and a welcome bottle of wine on arrival. Bed comfortable, fistures and fittings good quality. The owners are helpful and immediately across the road. 5 minutes walk to the centre, less to the castle, and a few minutes walk along to the harbor complex. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return

The owner was very helpful whilst allowing us the space to enjoy our break. The property was clean and conveniently situated. The local pubs offered a wide veriety of good food. There is a great chippy at the end of the street for the lazy nights in.

This place was misrepresented whether by Sykes or the owner, it is unlikely we will ever use this service again. My wife and I have stayed in many different accommodations in the UK (more than 50). Our experience has guided us about what to expect. This property did not deliver. There were issues from the beginning. When we arrived the owner met us with the key. Although we had paid for the entire property, we were informed that only 2 of the 3 bedrooms had been made up as he had decided for us that we didn't need them all. The picture shows a beautiful stone archway yet in reality it was under repair and covered in scaffolding. The noise of construction began directly outside the door at 6 AM each morning with trucks and workers and continued all day. Since the windows had no double glazing, the noise woke us early each morning . We offer a list of other problems we encountered so future renters can be aware. - bedding - thick duvets suitable for cold winter weather was the ONLY option although it was summer, mattresses were laid on wood slats with no box springs -windows - majority were painted shut - no ventilation on the entire 1st and 2nd floors -kitchen - most dinner plates were chipped - no cereal/soup bowls - no mixing or serving bowls - rusty cutlery and not enough for 6 tenants - no serving utensils or sharp knives - filthy kitchen table - clothes washing - has washer but no outdoor space for drying - bathroom - old worn out towels - shower - too small for a large man - water scalded without warning due to broken mechanism- DANGEROUS! - stairs - no railing at the top so a person had to tread carefully leaving the bedroom and bathroom so as not to fall down the flight- MOST DANGEROUS OF ALL! - no hair dryer provided In an attempt to save money, this owner has short changed his guests. This the worst place we have ever stayed.

This was a perfect location for us to stay. Just inside the old castle walls ideal for exploring the nearby town and shops and finding the pubs and restaurants. We used this as a base to go and explore the beautifull surroundings and was not dissapointed. The service was superb as was the accomodation. Everyone throughly enjoyed it.
