Lovely positioned cottage right in the middle of town. Downstairs bedroom ideal for my Mum with her own en-suite. We loved this holiday, the children said it was the best yet and we plan to come back to do more walking.

Very clean property and an excellent location between Buxton and Bakewell. Lots to do and would recommend Chatsworth House and Bakewell particularly.

The cottage itself was wonderful. It was clean, well furnished, in a great location and above all else we actually felt very much at home. We loved it and will definitely be returning.

We had a wonderful holiday at Queens Cottage in Tideswell. The village was charming, the walks exceptional, and the cottage cosy. The cottage was warm, updated, and very comfortable. Even with five adults, the cottage was roomy enough. Altogether a very special Christmas.

We liked the location very much. The cottage was amply furnished and the heating worked well and kept us warm despite our staying there in December. The local people were friendly and welcoming. Food in the pub opposite was very good. The folk singers who visit the pub every Thursday gave us a carol concert to remember.

We found the cottage to be warm and comfortable, well located, and very well equipped. We had a relaxing time, and the comfort of the cottage certainly helped us to enjoy it. If this is the usual standard, we would certainly recommend Sykes.

A very enjoyable stay, a very convenient location - could manage without a car if necessary, public transport good. One improvement could be made - the oven didn't work very well, and needed a good clean.

We stayed in this cottage for two weeks, having travelled over from Ireland. The village is wonderful alas the same cannot be said of the cottage. As stated above are the only things in the cottage that were good. Not enough for 7 people, we were a group of 5 with one child, cutlery was only available for 6 people not enough for obviously 7 and need more when using a dishwasher anyway, fridge door was hanging off when we arrived and when we left. Dining area cramped, garden plus furniture dirty. En suite bedroome a joke only suitable for a single bed, if two people slept in double, one had to crawl over the other to get to bathroom. No hooks behind bedroom or bathroom doors hence nowhere to hang your clothes, no space in any bedroom for a chair. En suite so small no lamp or sidetable. Single bedroom upstairs damp, this cottage is totally unsuitable for young children and older people, dangerous stairs and children able to open front door which leads right out onto busy street. There were so many little touches missing from this house, I would not recommend it unless you were young and put up with inferior furnishings.

We had a very good week in this cottage. It is well furnished and comfortable, with all the equipment needed for a pleasant stay. There is good heating for a winter holiday. I would say that it would be a little cramped for the maximum of seven but there is a limit of four adults, which is sensible, as two of the bedrooms are very small. It is very well located in a large village, with plenty of eating places and some shops. Also easy reach of most of the Peak District. We would use this again.
