I liked how it was close to amenities so we could go further afield in the day. I also loved how cosy it felt sitting there of an evening with the log fire going while watching TV. The canal walk was very nice. Beautiful spot and beautiful surroundings. Have already recommended Sykes and will be recommending The Railwayman's cottage to everyone too.

We love this cottage. The bedroom is so light and airy, whilst the living room is so warm and cosy; a great combination. The dog loves it too, the upstairs windows are just his height for watching the world go by. The canal on the doorstep is another plus.

Railwaymans's Cottage was very nice and very well equipped with everything you need. The log burner was very cosy and warm in the evening whilst watching TV. The location was very nice with the canal just around the corner where there was some wildlife to be seen. I would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends. Thanks to Sykes Cottages and the owner for a lovely holiday.

The location of Railwayman's Cottage was fairly remote, but with easy access to other parts of Somerset. Ideally situated in an area that was both beautiful and peaceful, being one of seven others in this little hamlet you did not feel isolated. Only 150 metres from access to the canal and other lovely footpaths was ideal for walks with our dog. We would recommend this cottage to anyone needing a little rest and relaxation.

I think the interior of the cottage was lovely, it was cosy and would be a great hideaway to chill out for a few days. The bedroom in particular was bright and sunny with windows on all sides, in winter it stays warm which was great.

Pleasant cottage to stay in. Well kept and having bonus ammenities such as dishwasher and washing machine. Canal walks pretty much on the doorstep, and easy access from M5 means it's a perfect base for visiting the surrounding area. Some minor extras would've made it a 5 star such a some handsoap in the bathroom and some instructions on using the woodburner, but overall a great little 'get away' cottage.

This cottage has been renovated to a very high standard. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom. The garden is on the small side. High speed rail line behind the cottage but the trains go past so fast that you soon get used to them and they don't run during the night. The canal is just round the corner and is a very pleasant walk. The location of the cottage is down some very narrow lanes. There is a pub about a mile from Railwaymans (can't remember the name) that is small and dark inside with loads of mismatch furniture but the food was lovely.
