Holiday home
Rambler's Cottage is a terraced cottage on the end of a row in the Lincolnshire village of Walesby near to Market Rasen on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Outside the cottage is an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture. With the Lincolnshire market towns close by and the city of Lincoln just a short drive away, Rambler's Cottage is a wonderful cottage for a couple to explore this beautiful county.

Walesby is a pretty village in Lincolnshire, on the edge of the Wolds. There are two attractive churches in the village, one of which is on the Viking Way walking route. There is also a tea room, and a shop and two pubs can be found in the neighbouring village of Tealby. For more amenities visit the towns of Market Rasen or Horncastle, or head to the city of Lincoln to explore the cathedral and castle. The coastline is also within easy reach.

From rolling countryside to historic cathedral cities and traditional seaside resorts, Lincolnshire offers a peaceful alternative to the discerning holidaymaker.

Gas central heating with gas fire in sitting room. Gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, books/DVD/games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Roadside parking. Enclosed garden with furniture. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1.5 miles. It was booked last minute and we were really impressed. The cottage was lovely, small but big enough for the two of us and our greyhound, very clean, situated in a beautiful area with easy access to other places and we had an amazing welcome pack. The three of us will certainly go again, would recommend it to anyone for a peaceful but interesting break.

There were so many walks right from the doorstep, the neighbours welcomed me and extended an invitation to the candle lit carol service in the local church. The cottage was just perfect.

Lovely cottage, lovely area, lovely weather. The Lincolnshire Wolds are underrated as a tourist area, with beautiful walks with outstanding scenery. We will definitely consider returning to this cottage which has everything you could ask for. A big thank you to the owner who also thoughtfully provided a very welcome 'Welcome pack.'

A lovely place to walk the dog and see the sights from - nowhere more than 30 miles away. Ramblers Church a must for all visitors and the views from it are incredible. Starter pack of food was really appreciated. Best shopping town was Lough, best visitor centre was Lincoln, best beach was Mablethorpe and the best pub to eat at was Aston Arms. All in all really great!

A perfect base for a two week stay in, what had been, for us, an unexplored part of England. The cottage retains many original features and is warm, comfortable and full of charm. The immediate area is beautiful with great walks from the door. Helpful, generous owner and friendly neighbours.

Ramblers' Cottage is cosy and comfortable with the best welcome pack ever.
January 2014
As I have nostalgic connections with Walesby and Lincolnshire, I knew I would enjoy myself. This feeling was enhanced by the comfortable practicality of the cottage. Sadly I didn't meet the owner, but I did meet some lovely neighbours! For peace and tranquility, for views of the night sky with no light pollution, for a perfect opportunity to escape from the rat-race, this is the place to be!
May 2016
It's a nice little cottage and as has been said before the stairs take some getting used to! Overall it's fine as a place to sleep after a long day walking but the size of the place prevents you from doing much else in there. It's worth noting there is no Wifi and if you're on O2 there's little or no phone signal so you really are isolated. There is also a 24" TV. The nearest pub is actually 2.5 miles away and really not an easy walk either! We either drove or got a taxi. Absolutely no shops in the village and the guy who lives opposite the village will most likely knock on your door on your first day and suggest you do not park on the road, instead park in the village hall car park, he doesn't like people parking opposite his drive! If you've never been to Market Rasen - don't bother but there is a Tescos and a Co op there.
September 2011
Everything we needed in a lovely cottage in a quite village.Found it very dark to be able to walk to the pubs in Tealby. The Old Barn was the best warm welcome and lovely food.Wish they ran our local.Did not find The Kings Head very welcoming. Walking with the dog in Willowby woods we found the best place. Only two down falls. The steps in the cottage are very steep and i fell down them and the other down fall is we had to come home. Thanks for a lovely stay
January 2014
Ramblers cottage is the perfect accomodation for two people plus their pet!Plenty of lovely places close by to walk a dog. Gorgeous little cosy cottage, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated. Lovely and warm! Absolutely everything you could possibly need. A lovely surprise was a welcome pack of local produce to eat.
November 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it is unusual to find a dog friendly cottage that is maintained to this high standard. Having a garden area and walks from the door was ideal, though it is alos well placed for car journies throughout Lincolnshire. One suggestion for improvement, would be to make the back of the garden more secure as there is no fence behind the neighbouring shed. A great little cottage!
November 2010
The cottage was lovely, clean, steep stairs, comfortable bed, everything you needed was there. Garden was nice, pet friendly and secure, parking was not a problem. Nice walks with the dog on the 'doorstep'. The downside was the kitchen if you wanted to use the oven / grill, once the door is open you can only stand at the right hand side there is no other access. Our welcome pack was very disappointing (extremely basic), clearly this had been overlooked judging by the comments in the visitors book, previous visitors had expressed comments as to how good this was.
September 2011
Although the kitchen was a lttle tight, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ramblers' Cottage. Right on th edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, the area was interesting but quiet and the locals very friendly.
August 2011
Welcoming Cottage, Small but well made, Lovely garden, brilliant welcome pack. Enjoy yourself, we did
March 2011
Ramblers Cottage was small but very cosy this cold January week. Nobody bothered us at any time. The wolds, coast and Lincoln all fascinating. Pubs very welcoming. an ideal getaway which was just what we wanted. The cottage was possibly a little under-equipped, e.g. no cereal bowls, tea towels, kitchen cloth (J cloth).
