Beautiful cottage, one of the best I've stayed in. Very peaceful off the main road with a good selection of up to date DVDs, new TV's in the lounge and bedroom, new stereo player in the kitchen. Lovely friendly welcome from the owner herself. Excellent little cottage cannot fault it, it's just a shame I cannot live in it!

Rose Cottage was the perfect English cottage. It was cosy, yet had plenty of space to move around and relax. We highly recommend staying here if you want a quiet, beautiful place to stay that is still well within reach of all the activities the Lake District has to offer.

Rose Cottage is in a lovely area. Location fab, lots of great days out not to far away. The cottage itself is just wonderful, the decor is perfect. The owners have thought of all the little extras. We had a fantastic holiday and stay in rose cottage. Would definitely recommend!

This has been the second time we have stayed at Rose Cottage, and it was another wonderful break with our baby son. The cottage is set in a lovely area and is beautifully furnished, with lots of 'added extras' to really make it a home from home. There is plenty to do within driving distance of the cottage for families. Highly recommended and we look forward to visiting again soon!

This is a beautiful cottage and after 20 minutes you felt it was home from home. It has been well thought out with all you could wish for and the welcome pack was the icing on the cake! Overall the perfect place for a holiday. Even enjoyed tending the garden. The owners are nice people too - bonus.

The cottage was beautiful and the owners had thought of everything.

We arrived to a beautifully decorated and very clean cottage. In a great location. It was quiet and beautiful, the house had lots of extras which helped enormously, like lovely soft blankets, logs for the fire, games, books and a dryer as well as a washing machine which, with two children was brilliant!

A delightful cottage in a quiet location off the beaten track but with easy access to the southern lakes.

This cottage was by far the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in. It was immaculate throughout. It had everything you could wish for and more, a home from home! It was made extra special with the owners introducing themselves and leaving us with welcome gifts. The fresh eggs being so good we brought more home! There is a fantastic restaurant within walking distance and a lovely village pub at the bottom of the road. This cottage is perfectly situated for anybody wanting to explore the Lake District. We hope to return soon and would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family.

Lovely welcome pack and lots of personal touches throughout the cottage. It was delightful.

We have just returned from our second stay at Rose Cottage in a matter of months. This is a very cosy cottage set in a peaceful Lakes village. There is easy access to lots of things to see and do in this beautiful part of The Lakes. Plenty of walks and lovely views straight from the door. Two pubs within walking distance, one, The General Burgoyne, serving outstanding food. It's just a few miles from all amenities (train station, supermarkets etc) yet very rural. The cottage itself is decorated to a very high standard with excellent quality fittings and furnishings throughout. It is cosy, warm and comfortable, with lots of little extra touches that make it feel very homely. The owner provides excellent support and is very helpful. We were greeted very warmly and the hamper of scones, bread and fresh farm eggs (and bubbly for our New Years Eve stay!) was very welcome, as well as delicious! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Our second visit to Rose cottage! In fact we've barely been away as we returned only four weeks after our last booking! Easy access to lots of things to see and do in this beautiful part of The Lakes. Two pubs within walking distance, one serving outstanding food. A few miles from all amenities (train station, supermarkets etc) yet very rural and in a lovely peaceful little village. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

We appreciated all the little touches very much,. The home-made scones, extra blankets, luxury quality bedding, and logs that were replenished throughout the weekend.
September 2016
We stayed for a week in September and enjoyed ourselves, its a very nice little cottage well equipped with all we needed and we were welcomed with fresh eggs and a fruit pie. We would have no hesitation recommending it.

This us a lovely little cottage in a quiet village just off the beaten track but close enough to everything you need. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped, and there's a warm welcome from the owner. Local pubs are both friendly enough, we enjoyed Sunday lunch at the General Burgoyne (under new management) and a few relaxing beers in the Derby Arms where the locals are friendly enough. Nice location for exploring the coast and southern lakes.

This cottage is just the perfect place to stay, there is plenty to do just a short drive away, but is also set in a little village which has two pubs one which does meals which are very nice. The cottage has been given a lot of thought and has lots of little extras which makes it feel very homely, the owners even left a batch of home made scones and fresh eggs! I would defiantly recommend this place. Thank you for our stay
