Rowan Lodge is a charming, ground floor log cabin in the Northern Highlands, on the outskirts of Blackmuir Wood and the village of Strathpeffer. The cottage has a double bedroom, a twin room and a bathroom, and can sleep four people. There is a spacious yet cosy open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area, comfy sofas, and French doors leading out on a private decked balcony with furniture. Outside, there is also off road parking for two cars, and a short drive to the RSPB Tollie Red Kites nature reserve. Set within easy driving distance of the Cairngorms National Park and Loch Ness, Rowan Lodge is a wonderful base for uncovering the unspoilt beauty of this spectacular region.
The pretty spa village of Strathpeffer offers shops, pubs, restaurants and a golf course, as well as craft shops and the Highland Museum of Childhood in a former Victorian railway station. The area also boasts walks, cycle routes and fishing.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
