Our holiday was superb and the cottage was larger than we thought but was very warm and cosy. The views from every room were good to fantastic. The weather was up and down but did not spoil our holiday at all, in fact the snow on the mountains made the holiday. We will be going again soon.

The views from the garden were magnificent. The garden was fully enclosed which was ideal for the dogs. It was ideally placed to explore the local area and had everything you needed to have a relaxing holiday. Great place for a holiday.

A lovely location with excellent views over the loch and of the surrounding countryside. We really enjoyed our week at Sail Mhor View and would really recommend this cottage to anyone.

We chose this property due to its location and because dogs are accepted. First impression upon arrival was that the cottage is quite dated with its decor. However the cottage sleeps up to 8 so the value for money is fantastic. The dogs settled in immediately which was great. It's a big roomy cottage with a lovely but slightly overgrown garden which impeded upon the view over the loch a bit. The only downside was the midges as they are relentless and nothing seemed to deter them. They only appear particulay bad around the cottage which may be due to the trees blocking any breeze which may keep them away. Once you get outside the gates of the cottage they didn't appear so bad. We wanted a place to relax and you can certainly do that at Sail Mhor. Very little noise other than a nearby cuckoo and a neighbour's cockerel. The view towards the hills is stunning. In fact all the nearby views are stunning. There were great moor walks for the dogs right across from the cottage gates. Sail Mhor is an ideal base for exploring the Highlands. We were able to explore beautiful coastlines, watch dolphins at Chanonry Point, see porpoise and seals from a boat trip out of Ullapool and take the dogs on lots of beach and woodland walks. We would highly recommend it for a relaxing break.

We traveled with our son, his family, which included two 16 year olds and a family friend. We all agreed the cottage was wonderful. It was large enough for 7 people to have space to themselves and to get together for meals, games or a little television watching. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed. The surrounding countryside was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sheep, the quiet and peacefulness of the area. The shops were a distance but no more than from our rural homes in the U.S. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms plentiful enough that no one had to wait. The cool weather was excellent for sleeping and the wool blankets kept us comfortable. While most places we wanted to visit were a distance from the cottage, there is no denying the cottage was a welcome sight when we made it back and so much better than a hotel room. We enjoyed playing games at the dining room table. The need to herd sheep several times to leave or return to the cottage will become family lore and I'm sure will be exaggerated with each telling. We learned they respond much quicker to a person than to a vehicle. The price was reasonable. We wanted a more 360 view, which was blocked by some overgrown bushes along the garden fence, but then we don't know what is behind the bushes so maybe they are overgrown for a reason. The restaurant at the Dundonnell Hotel is excellent. Avoid the rude owners and poor food at the Chinese take away in Laidd. All around a great place for a family vacation.

Sail Mhor View is a good size and allows dogs which was ideal. The views from the cottage were amazing also the surrounding scenery. though very remote there were plenty of places to travel to. The lochs and the mountains were stunning, lots of lovely beaches in the area. beautiful walks and waterfalls, gardens and amazing gorge in Dundonnell. Local traditional food at the Inn in gairloch.

Beautiful cottage in breathtaking surroundings. Excellent views from every room in the cottage. Accommodation first class, everything thought of and so spacious. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wishing to visit Wester Ross. Also when the rest of the UK was experiencing floods, the weather was beautful in Wester Ross. Also it didn't go dark at night - just so nice.
