Seacombe Cottage description

Holiday home
Seacombe Cottage is a well presented cottage close to the beach in Combe Martin. The cottage was originally two fisherman's cottages and the bedroom layout reflects this - there is a pair of bedrooms at each end of the cottage. Each pair is reached by it's own staircase, shares a bathroom and comprises of a king-size double and a second floor family room with three singles. Downstairs is a kitchen, utility and a sitting room with dining area and woodburner. Outside is off road parking for four cars, a front decked area with furniture and a small lawn, set alongside a gated stream. With the beach and amenities of Combe Martin on the doorstep, and the rest of this part of Devon waiting to be discovered, Seacombe Cottage makes a superb welcoming base.

Located on the border between Exmoor National Park and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is the picturesque settlement of Combe Martin. This little seaside resort, with a wide variety of amenities, is a great attraction for locals and visitors, and is home to a very popular beach. Lynton and Lynmouth, Woolacombe, Croyde Bay, Saunton Sands, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple are all within easy reach. There are also numerous National Trust properties and gardens close by, offering unique insights into local history. Woolacombe beach is close by and is an excellent place for surfing, whilst the South West coastal path passes within a mile for those who love rambling.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

A beautiful well equipped cottage just yards from the beach, perfect for family holidays. We loved it!

December 2015
We loved this cottage, it was really nicely decorated and had everything that we could wish for to make the holiday run smoothly, the owners really had thought of everything. The living room was nice and cosy and there was plenty of room for us. The location was ideal, within walking distance into the town and right down to the beach.

The cottage was ideal being close to the beach and town, yet quiet and tucked away. 10/10 for equipment, decor, position and the gate meant it was safe for grandchildren and our dog.

Proximity to the beach and small town. Nice quiet property. Easy walking distance to nice shops to buy provisions which we did each day. Beautiful scenery with lovely walks. Nice village in a lovely area.

Coombe Martin is a quiet Deavon seaside town. This cottage is located near the sea front and a short distance from the town. Cottage was lovely, with everything you would need for your stay. We were a party of 7 adults and 2 children with everything provided Our American friends were very impressed with the cottage, the town and the locals pubs which they visited most nights. On arrival we had the cream tea which was provided, A new experience for them. Thank you. We all had a great time and I have been asked to say a big thank you from our friends from across the pond. Would stay here again.

Seacombe Cottage was the ideal accommodation for our extended family. The layout, furnishings, equipment and decoration were perfect. The cottage is impeccably decorated and maintained.

This cottage offered a very peaceful location within easy reach of all the North Devon attractions. It is furnished to a high standard and can comfortably accommodate a large family or two families. Very well equipped with everything a home from home could want - you could even spend a day baking if you had a mind- and plenty of games etc to cater for any rainy days. The stairs are quite steep but have handrails and there are stairguards that can be utilised which might be necessary with young children - but my 92 year old Mother managed them with ease. There is a dog friendly stony beach a few yards away but it is also worth a drive (30mins) to either Woolacombe or Saunton Sands for fantastic sandy expanses. We had a lovely time there and by the end of our stay i'd got used to the narrow entrance drive. There is plenty of parking but any extra wide vehicle would have to be very careful going in and out.

This year we (group of 4 couples) spent our annual pre christmas break at Seacombe and we were not disappointed. The cottage is well furnished and has everything you want for a break away from home. Sumptuous carpets upstairs, lovely effective wood burner, quality showers and baths and a well equipped kitchen (oven big enough for our three rib roast ). Plenty of room for 8 adults and just enough parking for 4 cars. Ideal location within easy walking distance of beach and village but only noise that of the waves and/or babbling brook outside. The Dolphin Inn is worth a visit as is the Deli were we had breakfast before we left to come home.

This cottage is absolutely first class! It is stylishly decorated throughout with lots of beautiful touches. It is incredibly well stocked with a great range and quality of kitchen utensils, pots and pans. The layout lends itself perfectly to entertaining larger groups. The location is convenient for the beach opposite, tucked away nicely so very peaceful. It is also perfect for trips out to nearby Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and beyond. we enjoyed our stay immensely and will definitely be planning a return visit!

We ventured out to nearby towns, enjoying the restaurants in Fore Street in Ilfracombe. We also surfed in Woolacombe which has the most amazing beach! this beautiful cottage is thoughtfully kitted out with all the home comforts and a few extras. Our family group included 2 toddlers and an agile 90 year old. The location was perfect allowing the whole group to walk into Coombe and to the beach. Secure off road parking and a gated driveway / garden a bonus with little people and a dog.

What a fantastic holiday home, in a perfect location close to the beach and shoreline, and equipped to an exceptionally high standard, with every small touch covered. We loved the accommodation layout which suited the 3 generations of the family, allowing time together and some peace if needed. Walking distance to all that you could need in terms of food, drink and leisure, a super friendly village and close to other attractions if needed.

Beautiful cottage full of character. Decorated and equipped to to an exceptionally high standard, the cottage has been well thought out to cater for every need while giving a real sense of comfort and luxury. The bathrooms are amazing and the wet room is not only a great addition allowing you to wash off the beach residue before entering the cottage but is also really well equipped. The welcome pack provided is above and beyond your usual tea bags and milk- a proper cream tea with clotted cream and fudge gives a clue to the fact that this is not your ordinary cottage rental but the owners are keen to go the extra mile to make your holiday experience special. The lovely dog friendly beach is literally just across the road ( which is very quiet and safe). The cottage is a short walk into the village which boasts all you need including a great Deli and a Pub which serves fantastic food.

We arrived to find a beautiful cottage, very well equipped. We loved the property and enjoyed a daily walk by the sea to excellent local shops for the usual groceries plus excellent provisions from the Harbour Deli and the butcher next to it. Kayaks were hired for a very reasonable rate and were enjoyed. The property has a lovely outside area with large wooden table and chairs, where we enjoyed a barbecue.

Holidayed with my wife, daughter and her husband and children. The cottage is all you could want in a holiday home, with quality furniture and fittings, comfortable furnishings etc. Off road parking, and small, gated garden which meant it was safe for our 3 year old granddaughter and our dog to wander in and out. Quiet side road, yet within 5 minutes of local shops. Coombe Martin is a lovely, unspoilt village with bakery, mini-supermarket, takeaways, pub, restaurants etc at hand. Will be back in the future.

We were lucky enough to be the first guests to ever stay here. What a treat! A beautiful cottage, so well equipped, there was even cake decorating equipment and a bread maker. It has been very tastefully designed and we enjoyed the extra touches like the whirlpool bath and walk in shower. An ideal cottage for two families and in a perfect location. A dog friendly beach is 50yds away and the other beach and village about a two minute walk. We loved rock pooling and going for an evening stroll to the pub. Oh and there was a delicious cream tea waiting for us on arrival, a perfect welcome to Devon! Highly recommended.
