Serenity Beach Cottage description

Holiday home
The aptly-named 'Serenity' is a detached bungalow with 2 bedrooms, offering accommodation for 4 people. All the accommodation is spread out over one level. It is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on a private estate in Embleton, only 2 minutes walk from the local shop and pub. To the rear of the property is a garden in which you can enjoy a glass of wine on a summer's evening or simply soak up the local scenery. The beach is a 15-minute walk away. Electric heating throughout means that you can enjoy all that the region has to offer, even in the winter months.

Area
The village of Embleton can be traced back to beyond medieval times and during the Wars of the Roses, it suffered much from the ravages of Scottish invaders. Today, ancient castles and ruins stand testament to Embleton's turbulent past; the Church of Holy Trinity is a late-Norman church, dating from the 12th century, later to be restored in Victorian times. Viewed from the sea, the undulating whinstone ridge that shelters much of the village from east winds, resembles a caterpillar, hence the old name 'Emeldune', meaning the hill of the caterpillar. The rolling countryside means that golfers can enjoy a good 18-hole links golf course that overlooks the beautiful Embleton Bay. Recently launched is the Embleton Heritage Trails Project, consisting of six trails, ranging from a short walk around the village, to a longer six mile route, following the spectacular coastline and inland into the tranquil countryside.

Region
Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

A beautiful bungalow with everything you could ever need, a real 'home from home'. Very comfy and cosy. Lovely to get back to after days out on the Northumberland coast. It has a wonderfully kept garden which would be glorious to sit out in when the weather is warmer. We would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends and would love to return someday.

Serenity sure had the right name, it was so peaceful, the garden a delight. It was home from home. My family call me Mrs Bouquet as I usually go round any rental and clean but I had nothing to do on arrival. Loved it.

We had rotten weather but it was always a pleasure to come back to Serenity. A very peaceful location, very near to the pub and hotel when the owner told us about the short cut. Good to have a large TV, especially as we were in a lot because of the weather. The garden was beautiful as was what was obviously a new extension which housed the kitchen, dining area and the sitting area. All very modern. Excellent!

The bungalow was well furnished and the blackout blinds in particular were very welcome. The children enjoyed the garden. We loved that we could walk to the beach and leave the car behind and then walk on to Dunstanborough Castle via the wonderfully clean beach with lots of rock pools for the kids to explore. The playground in Embleton was a big plus too. Friendly people, lovely location, peaceful and relaxing. Thank you.

Very modern bungalow, well equipped.Private garden. Shame the weather didn't allow us to use it very much, but that's the British summer! The house would benefit from a second toilet...we shared with my elderly mother and only having 1 bathroom was a bit annoying at times. Otherwise, a very enjoyable stay and a very nice cottage.
