The cottage 'Skiddaw' oozes the charm and cosiness that one could hope for as a getaway destination for Christmas. Walking in, one could really leave any chaos behind and settle in for a calming and restful stay. The cottage however does provide an excellent location to explore the heart of the Lake District and should you feel up for it, walks for all abilities.

The location is excellent for the Northern Lakes and has stunning views from the property. The overall site is well maintained plus has a large stock of DVDs and videos, and a games room to keep one entertained for when the weather is not so good.

The cottage was of a high standard throughout and was far enough removed, yet still within easy access of Keswick and the northern Lakes. We would recommend the cottages (actually, we've already done so) and would be happy to return.

The silence and the fact that there was a hallway to hang wet clothes and dry off muddy boots.
