Spinney Farm Cottage Family Cottage description

Holiday home
Spinney Farm Cottage is a detached cottage situated in a rural location, on a working farm on the outskirts of the village of Bonsall in the Peak District. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms - one king-size double and one twin, both on the first floor. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. The living accommodation is on the ground floor and is open plan, with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with electric fire and patio doors leading to the front garden. The garden is large, with a lawned area, patio and furniture. There is also ample off road parking at the cottage. With the Peak District National Park on the doorstep and lovely villages and market towns to explore nearby, Spinney Farm Cottage makes a great Peak District cottage base.

Area
The conservation village of Bonsall is located at the heart of the Derbyshire Dales, on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The village is named in the Domesday Book, with a history dating back to Roman times. The Barley Mow pub offers the World Hen Racing Championship's, which is held on the first Saturday every August. The village holds Open Gardens in June and a horticultural show in September. Great walks can be enjoyed on The Limestone Way, which passes through the village and on the High Peak and Tissington trails, which are nearby. Matlock is 4 miles away, and offers shops, good restaurants and Hall Leys Park. Visit The Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth House or the market town of Bakewell.

Region
The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning setting. Close enough to all the sights of the Peak District but retaining an air of peace and tranquility.

The location was perfect and the cottage a home-from-home. It was an ideal base to visit the nearby attractions but perfect if you wanted to go for a walk in the countryside without having to drive any where.

Great stay at Spinney Farm Cottage. Have already recommended to friends, as it is very detached, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, and tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. The Cottage is only a ten minute drive from lots of attractions making it an ideal base for holidaying in Derbyshire. The village pub The Barley Mo is a two minute drive down the hill, we enjoyed two meals there, and they are so welcoming. The people in this area are extremely friendly. Brilliant home from home. Would definitely return.

Amazing cottage in a great area. Great views and close to many attractions. Our 2 1/2 year old son had an amazing time, loved the sheep around cottage and garden was a very good size. Owners were very polite and helpful. A great place to get away from it all and relax. We all had a brilliant holiday!

The location was remote which kept the area quiet and with the amazing scenery, it was most relaxing sitting in the garden.

A lovely cottage. Its relative seclusion was heaven. So good to return back to at the end of the day. Didn't meet the owners but obviously kind and concerned for the welfare of their tenants - fresh flowers, fresh eggs and chocolates left for me on arrival! Most thoughtful. Missed WiFi and internet at first but soon lost the addiction for that!

This holiday cottage is perfect for exploring Matlock Bath & the surrounding area. The cottage is in a quiet location with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The cottage itself was perfectly kept, clean, tidy & warm. Everything we needed was provided and we enjoyed a very relaxing weekend and ended up spending quite a bit more time than intended in the cottage as it was so well kept & we felt very comfortable there. We would certainly love to visit again in the near future.

We have 2-3 holidays a year in cottages in the UK and this was definitely one of our best. The cottage was perfect, comfortable, quiet and the location combined with the gorgeous weather made for a great holiday. We rarely return to the same place or cottage but we would return here.

Stayed with a friend, we were both in need of a break and Spinney Farm Cottage fitted the bill perfectly. Restored to a very high standard with everything we needed to make us comfortable, the cottage was warm and cosy which was very welcome on the chilly November nights. Beautiful views from the garden added to the appeal. The cottage was a bit hard to find and would be tricky if you were arriving for the first time in the dark, we had to stop and ask for directions, but despite being off the beaten track it didn't take long to get to Matlock Bath and other local amenities. Chatsworth House transformed into Narnia was a treat, as was finding the pretty villages hidden among the Peaks and Dales. Loads to do for all ages in the area, though if staying out of season check first as some attractions, including the Heights of abraham cable car was closed for the winter.

Beautiful little cottage in a picturesque setting. Everything about the cottage was perfect. There were also a lot of brochures for sight seeing opportunities. The odd problems we had working the television were quickly dealt with by the owner and they helped our friend start her car at the end of the week. Excellent service. We would definitely come again.

The cottage was excellent in all ways. We especially liked the new laid eggs on arrival and had an egg on toast breakfast on the patio on the first Sunday morning!

Great service with lovely fresh eggs on arrival. The cottage was perfect, a real home from home but with the added luxury of under floor heating and power shower. The location was also good with short/long walks from the door. It was also a great base to visit the local attractions nearby. We would definitely come back.
