The cottage had a lovely sitting room which was a joy to relax in. The kitchen was comfortable and we enjoyed having breakfast in the sun on the tiny patio by the back door. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners. The cottage is in an excellent location for visiting both lakes and moors. The village is lovely to wander around and we found excellent shop and pubs.

The log fire was good, as it was very cold. Also liked the perks, not just for the humans staying but also the dogs. Despite being on a main road it was quiet and no issues over traffic noise.

We enjoyed our week in the Lakes and Dales in the sun and warmth not usually associated with the time of year. Best of all was the friendliness of the locals and the local pub, The Punch Bowl.

The extra little touches made you feel so welcome and at home straight away, the holiday could start as soon as you walked through the door. The Owner was so kind and friendly that you felt you could ask anything. It was a fantastic cottage and we will be back.

We really enjoyed the stay in Stonebower cottage. The collection of keys was brilliant and the information provided about the local area was really useful. The cottage was well presented, small but cosy and very clean. We would recommend and stay again. Thanks for a great time.

The location is great for walking and discovering the Yorkshire Dales. The owner made every effort to supply everything around the house and we immediately felt at home. There are lots of local pubs and restaurants to choose from in the evening. We were spoilt for choice!

A very welcoming cottage which was well furnished and equipped with two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom, situated on the main road running through Burton -in- Lonsdale. A delightful Pub with good food and dog friendly. Also a General provisions shop close by. The Landlady made us very welcome with cakes and biscuits and could not do enough for us. We would have liked to have re-visited this year but at the time of booking it was not available.

The cottage is very lovely and is a credit to the owners. There are lots of lovely walks and attractions about (even the beach for those looking further afield) and some brilliant restaurants. The Highwayman is a good recommendation.

The cottage is comfy and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. There are so many places to visit.... you really are spoilt for choice. The owners are friendly and when the fridge broke on Christmas Eve they sorted it straight away. There is a small enclosed area at the back with a small bistro table and chairs and it is secure so u can let you fourlegged legged friend out :)

The cottage is very nice and cosy, very well equipped and clean. The characteristic wooden floor, stone walls and the fireplace were definitely highlights! The owners and also the village people are most lovely and gladly help you out with everything. Located in a very small village, the place offers a lot of peace and quiet and is a perfect base for discovering the beautiful Yorkshire Dales or the Lake District area. But a car would be very advisable. The only negative aspect is the traffic noise from the near main road, but after you got used to it, it isn't so disturbing anymore. All in all the cottage is a perfect retreat for couples, small families and also for singles who look for a relaxing vacation in the middle of the most beautiful north english nature.

Just returned from the cottage this week. Booked at short notice and got a great deal. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely owners, from the welcome pack (even the dogs were included), suggestions of walks, places to visit and restaurant recommendations. Often the disadvantage of renting 'dog friendly'properties is that they smell 'dog friendly'- not this one- it was spotlessly clean and fresh, and decorated beautifully. (we almost wished the weather wasnt so good as the place was so cosy and snug-must be great in winter) It has everything you could possibly need- from iron and ironing board, a dvd player, lots of games and books to keep you busy without WIFI (dont be put off - we were terrified at first but in the end it felt very liberating!!) and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The bathroom is new and the shower is great. The cottage has beautiful wooden floors and stone walls which are really interesting and beautiful. Burton on Lonsdale itself is a tiny village- its so pretty. Theres a village shop selling everything you could need, with a cafe serving excellent food, and the village pub is really great. The food there is fantastic and varied. Both are a minutes walk from the cottage. In all, we were really pleased with the place and definitely want to return. Definitely recommend it, and have already done so to several of my friends.

Pleasant little cottage in small village, well located for the Dales, coast and Lakes. Comfortable and warm, well equipped and some nice little touches for the dog. Comment re survey - it is not a vacation in this country! I very nearly didn't bother to complete the survey.
