The location of the property is ideal for the beach and is a functional base to explore the many tourist attractions within the county. Wexford is a beautiful County and Gorey (the nearest town) has everything that you need. We found the local people to be friendly helpful.

We had an amazing week staying at Strawhall. I've never stayed anywhere as well equipped! The locals were friendly and there was plenty to see do, we enjoyed shopping in Gorey, the seal sanctuary in Courtown, horse riding locally and the beautiful beaches. All in all it was an amazing holiday, and the most perfect little straw cottage!

Strawhall Cottage is a lovely cottage in a great area , we were delighted when we arrived at the cottage and our two young kids loved it. Very easy to get to numerous locations with so much to do for all the family. We went for different walks every morning from beaches to forests all within a few minutes of the cottage. We will definitely be back.

The cottage was warm and cosy and it was well prepared for us by the owner. We liked the beaches which were beautiful yet deserted. We enjoyed the walk in Wicklow Mountains and the history trail at Kilkenny.

The cottage was very warm, cosy and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean and with more than the usual basics provided. We got lots of practical information from the key holder with lots of tourist info from previous guests. I would highly recommend the property and a return visit is definitely hoped for if not yet planned!

My husband and I stayed here for a week March 2013 - I thought I'd reviewed the place but obviously didn't. The weather was terribly cold when we visited Ireland and we found the cottage great to come home to after a day out and about. We went out every day, all day. We left the heaters on but I can say the loungeroom holds heat very well and is nice to lounge around in at night with a drink after dinner. The kitchen had everything we needed and we often cooked meals at home. We went to the local pub but there was a wedding reception on so it was packed, we had 1 drink and left. Make sure you go out to Cahore Point, the pub has a great view and is very inviting. Booking was a breeze, no complaints there. The cottage was lovely and clean, I do remember the bed being a bit hard or short though ( I am 5 foot 10). The washing machine and dryer was most welcomed! We loved how the lounge area of the cottage in particular runs the same pitch and direction as the road, sideways downhill haha! It was no problem and just added to the charm of the place and it's only a slight thing but we could definitely feel it. Driving out onto the road was at times a bit hairy due to bushes and hedges, so take care with that. We would go back again and it is very good value for money. The front bedroom that has the 2 single beds was pretty small but you don't spend all your time sleeping anyway so get out amongst it all and enjoy. One last thing, we went to the wrong cottage as there is one just up the road with a red door hahaha, luckily they weren't home. Fiona

Strawhall was a delightful old fashioned cottage but with all the modern amenities that you could want. Handy location for plenty of places of interest. An enjoyable experience. It was interesting to see the work being done on the thatched roof.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful area, weather was great, gorgeous beach just 5 minutes drive away. Courtown is a lovely little harbour town, Gorey great for shopping, Enniscorthy dog track a great night out. Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin well worth checking out, 6 euro to get in and really interesting.

The open fires and the lovely treats that the owner left for us. As it was over the Xmas period the owner had decorated the cottage very nice. She is a thoughtful person and nothing was a problem. Would recommend this to others.

This was our second stay at Strawhall this year and hopefully will be returning next year. Strawhall is a beautiful and welcoming cottage, the owners are very helpful. An ideal place to stay for touring the South East of Ireland and the beaches are wonderful with plenty of good fishing.

Lovely traditional cottage extended at rear to provide 2 bedrooms sleeping four comfortably. Everything you could need is there and the garden at rear got the sun (yes sun!) all day. And evening. Owners vey helpful with directions, keys etc. The twins beds are a little tired as was the bedding but spotlessly clean. The extended parts of the cottage were great with lots of room throughout. Seemed to be lots of moths in the lounge but with a thached roof no surprise there. We stayed in UK May half term which does not take place in Ireland so relatively quiet in terms of kiddie activities in surrounding areas including Courttown - great pool but make sure you take hats, with outdoor playground on approach. Wells house is a must to walk the fairy trail and get the kids to find the fairy doors. Gorey is great and recommend Partridges for lunch. Nearby beaches are fantastic and we had them all to ourselves.

I arrived at this property after dark - the owners had been notified of my arrival time, nevertheless the property was cold and damp and the night storage heaters were not effective. Advertised as 4 ticks ( stars) by Sykes / Hogan Cottages. The property was so inhospitable that despite a 2 hour drive, I turned the car around and drove back to Dublin to find a hotel for the night. The beds were very cheap, the second bedroom tiny, with narrow single beds without space to walk around. If you have low expectations of the quality, and are travelling in the peak of summer then maybe it is acceptable to you - otherwise look elsewhere. I took the matter up with the agents the following morning, but they refused to offer any compensation, or find me alternative accomodation I turned the car around and left. You will see from my review history that almost all my reviews are positive. But this place was extremely disappointing.

The cottage was just right for us with 2 small children, it had everything we needed and was also roomy and comfortable for rainy days! It was very clean when we arrived. It was a perfect base to explore the surrounding area, which for us meant easy access to some great beaches, which our 3 year old loved as there is lots and lots of digging to be done! Gorey was easy to access for shopping and other amenities. We did a day trip to Wexford itself which was within reach and perfect for a rainy day.

Lovely cottage in little village, has 2 oubs & one handy if a tad pricey shop. You can walk to Cahore beach & find coastal path. BUT Morriscastle beach is lovely. Cottage has everything you could need -slight gripe - double bed is very small we are used to a superking - you might struggle if very tall. Kitchen had everthing you could need & we did cook. Recommend Gorey for shopping & there is a Sunday market in village hall for local produce. Good base for discovering Enniscorthy, Wexford, Wicklow or just be lazy on the beach in the sun!
