Sunnymede Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Wonderful Sunnymede is a stone built terraced cottage which dates back to the 18th century. Sunnymede is located in a hamlet called Ellingstring, just five miles from the market town of Masham. The cottage has been brilliantly restored and retains some original features such as old beams and feature fireplaces. Sunnymede sleeps up to six people and has three bedrooms - one double, one twin and one adult bunks. The cosy sitting room and dining room have lovely open fires, which are perfect to relax next to. Sunnymede also has an excellent kitchen and bathroom. The cottage has front and rear gardens and off road parking for two cars. There are many beautiful villages and towns nearby that have something for everyone. Sunnymede is a fantastic base for families or friends wanting to explore this part of Yorkshire.

Situated in stunning Wensleydale alongside the pretty River Ure is the lovely market town of Masham. Two markets - one on Wednesday and one on Saturday occur within the delightful market square. Masham has many shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs and is also home to the famous Black Sheep Brewery. There are also many walks in the area, including a fabulous ten mile walk along the Ure. Just one mile away is the magnificent Jervaulx Abbey. The bustling towns of Ripon, Harrogate and Thirsk are also nearby and worth a visit. The breathtaking Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks are a short drive away. There is so much to see and do within this area at any time of the year.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Electric storage heaters with two open fires. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV with DVD. Electricity and starter packs for open fires inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Highchair on request. Parking for 2 cars available opposite the front of the cottage. Front garden with furniture. Rear terraced garden with lawn, patio and hand rail for less mobile guests. This was a unique property in that it was two tiny little 18th Century cottages combined so it had character all over!

Peaceful and tranquil but not totally cut off, with plenty of walks and views across the Dales. This was our third visit to the cottage and sure it will not be our last. The owner was very helpful and always contactable should you need any help.

This property was excellent for our needs. Allowing us to take our 7 month old puppy with us made everything so much easier. The rear garden was fully enclosed and was fantastic for her to enjoy. The kitchen was fully equipped and was a joy to cook in, enough pots n crocks to cook a 3 course birthday meal. The bathroom was brilliant; separate bath and shower was excellent.

The cottage was lovely, so cosy and so many traditional features, totally loved it, and so well equipped! Just such a lovely place to stay, and central for all the places we wanted to visit. Top marks all round, we are definitely thinking of booking again next year, wonderful.

The cottage was cosy and very comfortable especially with the open fire. We loved the welcome pack and the fact that everything was there that we needed. It was very quiet and we would visit again.

The welcome pack was amazing, we haven't stayed anywhere for years with a welcome pack. Large kitchen with plenty of worktop space. Good parking spaces for us and our visitors. All in all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends and relations.

Beautiful little cottage in a quiet location, away from it all! Great place to unwind yet within easy travelling distance of nearby villages. Enclosed garden was great for my dog, lovely sunny seating area, great for reading and a glass of wine. Wonderful!

Cottage was very homely, central to the Dales yet tucked away cosy and quiet. No air or light pollution. Nice touch with the welcome pack, tea, milk, butter, bread, marmalade and biscuits.

Great location, small but cosy cottage.

June 2011
The cleanliness of the property and the welcome pack showed that the owner cared about the visitors. Although a terraced property the walls were so thick that not a sound could be heard from the neighbours.

Lovely cottage, lovely location. Quiet and peaceful, with good cattle action in the field opposite.
Ms Theakston
February 2011
The kitchen was very well appointed for catering for 6 people. It was a cosy cottage as the weather was particularly icy. The welcome pack was indeed welcome! Thank you.

The drive from Ellingstring across the Dales to Pately Bridge is stunning! Visit Hawes; a typical Dales town.

The cottage was exactly what we wanted; cosy and warm with an abundance of hot water. It was quiet and secluded providing a restful break.
August 2011
Although small in size it was comfortable and despite being a terraced property, it was quiet both inside and out. The kitchen was equipped with all we needed and best of all the bathroom had both a bath and a seperate shower keeping us both happy! Our welcome was warm and "food parcel" pleasing.
November 2010
A lovely cottage in a quiet village with little passing traffic. The cottage is well equipped and warm and cosy. The back garden could do with attention but apart form that I would recommend this cottage for anybody wanting to stay in a cottage in a quite location yet a short drive away from beautiful tourist spots.
