Everything about this cottage was first class. Lovely big garden for the dog to play in. The owners were very welcoming and easy to talk to. Plenty of information about the cottage in a folder and also information about Hope Mansell. The cottage is very rural but that is what we loved about it.

The cottage is in a superb location. Although the cottage is very close to the owners property you didn't feel you were being overlooked. The town of Ross-on-Wye is really close by car and has all the shopping facilities required on a day to day basis. There were plenty of fabulous walks directly from the front door and the neighbours in the valley are REALLY friendly and welcoming. One of the few places in the UK where you really cannot hear road traffic noise other than local vehicles. Also, it was close to good pub/restaurants which are dog friendly and serve excellent food.

We enjoyed the location of the property and found it to be a great base for visiting not just the Forest of Dean, but the Cotswolds and the Brecon Beacons. There's so much to see in the area for all ages that whatever the weather is like ,I'm sure anyone visiting would find something to do.

October 2015
Lovely barn in a great location.wonderful garden, brilliant for our two dogs.David and Kate were very good hosts, friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. The barn itself was very warm and cosy, even though it was October we never had to use the wood stove once.Overall the barn had everything that you needed for a weeks stay, the only complaint we could have was that the two single beds really need new mattresses, very uncomfortable. There was so much to do in the local area, with The lovely towns of Ross on Wye and Monmouth certainly worth a visit.Goods walks from the door and wonderful scenery. Very relaxing stay and would certainly return!!

We have had a lovely holiday. The cottage is really nice and cosy. The pictures do not do it justice. The garden is also amazing and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. The owners are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. We very much enjoyed meeting their Flatcoat, Inca. There are lots of things to do in the area. Our four year old son did not want to come home.

A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, which was well furnished and equipped. The local area of the Wye Valley was stunning.
May 2013
A beautiful stone built former cider house circa 1700 that has been lovingly restored by current owners, who live next door. The owners, including their lovely flat coated retriever, Inca, could not have been more welcoming. The property is set in a valley with superb walks and stunning scenery close by. The cottage was very comfortable with everything provided, including a dishwasher! Would most certainly go back. Highly recommended.
September 2012
Had a great time here with wonderful hosts. We had the most wonderful weather for our stay but whatever the weather it is a lovely barn. the owners are very nice and welcoming. The village is a bit off the beaten track but that made it all the better for us. It was great for our Dalmatian too as huge garden for her and she couldn't get out!! Lots of walks around the area and good location for visiting Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
