Excellent accommodation with very supportive owners should we need them, which incidentally, we didn't as the property was first class. Would recommend highly!

We had such a warm welcome from the owners. The cottage had everything we needed; it was very spacious, beautifully furnished and had a gorgeous garden. It was very quite but close to amenities. Will recommend to friends.

The property was ideally situated in Gargrave; close to shops, pubs, etc, yet absolutely quiet inside. Lovely walks nearby.

The cottage was bright, well decorated and furnished with plenty of towels etc. It was great to have WiFi and we liked the garden and garden furniture. The location was excellent, close to shops and in a pleasant village with lots of good walks close by. The owners were very friendly and had taken the trouble to provide information leaflets etc. It was also very nice to find that they had also left a few grocery items which made us feel very welcome.

The cottage was well situated and very well equipped. The welcome tray was such a lovely surprise. The owners were helpful and friendly and obviously went out of their way to make the cottage so fresh and comfortable. We would visit this property again.

The cottage is situated in a lovely village with access to many walks of all kinds, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It is also situated in a position where within a short distance you could travel to many beautiful spots across the county.

There was a very warm welcome from the owners and they had provided a welcome pack that was much appreciated. The accommodation was first class. Access was good and there was ample car parking close to the property. All in all a very pleasurable and relaxing break. First class.

We had a wonderful holiday in Gargrave due to the extremely high standard of The Arbour cottage and the help we were given by the owners to appreciate the lovely surrounding area. I would definitely recommend it to anyone whether they want a quiet time away or want to visit York or Leeds areas. Brilliant!

The Arbour was perfect and faultless for us. Janet and Hugh were friendly. Scones, jam butter, biscuits and milk were a welcome addition after a long journey. Fresh flowers, on the table and the local paper was a nice touch too. The Co-op is only two minutes away, fabulous fish and chips just across the road!. The local pub The Masons Arms ( across the bridge) served good food at a reasonable price. Gargrave is a good location for visiting the dales with a train station and bus stops. We would stay here again.

The overall setting of the place, and the very warm welcome we received from the owners. Further contact with them during the week made us feel more like friends than clients.

I booked this cottage at the last minute. I chose The Arbour because it is close to all the locations I wanted to be near in Yorkshire, because it looked exceptionally clean and because it had free wifi. We were not disappointed and have loved being in this charming, romantic cottage in the middle of Gargrave, a very upmarket little village near Skipton. The owners who live in a big house in the same venue were charming and very helpful. The Arbour is amazingly well equipped. When we arrived there were all sorts of provisions (tea, coffee, biscuits, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, cocoa, oil and a lot of etceteras). We didn't have to buy any of the kitchen basics, washing powder, etc as literally everything was provided. Everything was of the highest quality and seemed brand new. The cottage has its own sitting area in the garden which is beautiful and we were able to explore and use the whole of the lovingly tendered garden. All in all this place was perfect and not at all expensive. We would come again, loved the village and our cottage.,and would highly recommend this choice to any couple looking for a great location and a place to get away from it all.

I booked this cottage at the last minute and Sykes was able to offer me this and another place nearby. I chose Gargrave because it is close to all the locations I wanted to be near in Yorkshire, because it looked exceptionally clean and because it had free wifi. We were not disappointed and have loved being in this charming, romantic cottage in the middle of Gargrave, a very upmarket little village near Skipton. The building is a bungalow type and I would have preferred an old stone cottage. That said it was still nice except that our entrance was made of cement. The building actually houses two cottages with a common entrance which we never used as both had French window entrances too. The owners who live in a big house in the same venue were charming and very helpful. The French window entrance of the cottage leads onto a big dining room with an open kitchen. They lead on to a medium sized lounge, one big bedroom with a very comfortable big bed and a small bathroom. It says it sleeps 4 but 2 couples couldn't sleep here. It is ideal for 2. The arbour is amazingly well equipped. When we arrived there were all sorts of provisions (tea, coffee, biscuits, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, cocoa, oil and a lot of etceteras) which may have been left by the previous owners but not all of it such as the jam. We didn't have to buy any of the kitchen or bathroom basics, washing powder, etc as literally everything was provided. Everything was of the highest quality and seemed brand new. The cottage has its own sitting area in the garden which is beautiful and we were able to explore and use the whole of the lovingly tendered garden. The wifi never worked but everything else was perfect. All in all, this place was wonderful and not at all expensive. Gargrave was a surprising little village/town and the best thing here are the walks on the canal and the village greens with their charming stepping stones. We were not impressed with the nearby Old Swan pub which wouldn't serve food after 8.40 pm but were very impressed with the local Indian place called The Bollywood Cottage. The location of the cottage is right on the high street next to the co-op supermarket which is very convenient but not very well stocked. We would come again, loved the village and our cottage and would highly recommend this choice to any couple looking for a great location and a place to get away from it all. The only disappointment was the lack of internet which I solved by using my own modem. Otherwise, 10 out of 10

The accommodation was very comfortable with nice big bed. Plenty of heating, hot water, good kitchen area. Lovely and light. Wi-fi a feature. Welcoming owners but not intrusive. Thought might be noisy as close to road but not at all. Well-stocked Co-op one minute's walk. Lots of interesting walks in area, many from the door. It was advertised as sleeping up to 4 but think this would interfere with the comfort I would be happy to go there again.

Apart from the unexpectedly glorious weather the village had good facilities supermarket, pub, cafe and curry house. Plenty of walking could be done from the village, both flat and more arduous.
