The Barn at Hill House makes a great base for enjoying the region, whether it's tackling the walking and cycling trails, exploring market towns or pretty villages, or braving the rides at Alton Towers!

Area
The market town of Leek is situated on the western side of The Peak District National Park and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture - a reminder of the town's prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, bookshops and galleries and there is good selection of restaurants and real ale pubs. Alton Towers is less than 15 minutes drive away.

The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

The welcome on arrival from the owners was excellent. The views from The Barn at Hill House was stunning. And the thought behind the games left in the lounge for both children and adults to play and the information about the local area went above and beyond what can normally be expected. Just a truly wonderful break in a lovely accommodation within a beautiful part of the country.

When we arrived the first thing you really noticed is the spectacular views out of the lounge and kitchen windows, absolutely breathtaking. The barn is beautiful, finished and equipped to a very high standard. The attention to detail in every aspect made for a perfect break. We could not think of any way in which it could be improved. Anyone staying here would not be disappointed, we cannot wait to return.

The setting and view were amazing. Lots of walks from the doorstep. The barn was well equipped and the welcome pack was very generous. Lovely d?cor and the design of the barn was obviously given a great deal of thought when it was converted.

The owners welcome was most generous, including a personal introduction around the cottage and a very helpful guide to all of the most modern appliances. High quality modern fittings through out alongside tasteful decor made for an excellent, warm and peaceful stay. In addition, the stunning views across the valley can be seen from all windows and walks from the doorstep just made our holiday very relaxing. Our dog liked it too!

The Barn is a high quality conversion. Very comfy bedrooms, amazing view from the kitchen/lounge, good location for local walks and so on. The really important thing is that the owners put a lot of thought into the details - for example, marking the calendar with interesting events, good bread and brownies in the welcome package, loads of personal recommendations and directions for walks, pubs, restaurants, and sightseeing, taking care over configuration of bedrooms. They do a great job.
