It was absolutely perfect! The hosts were incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. The property is in pristine condition. The grounds were immaculate, the views spectacular, the air fresh and the noise non-existent. The cottage itself offered everything we desired. The area was spacious and bright, fully equipped, and very clean. Our stay was so lovely and if I'm ever in Ireland again, this will surely be where I stay.

Beautiful location and view from the cottage, the town nearby was small but the people were some of the friendliest I have encountered on any of my travels

The area around The Coach House is absolutely stunning, the cottage lies in quiet countryside, but main towns are reachable within 10 to 15 minutes. Good access to the main A roads, or Motorways. Lovely walking ways around and very friendly people. Will definitely return.

The perfect place to just get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I booked this place with friends for a two week vacation and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The owners were incredibly warm, helpful (always giving us tips and tricks) and the Coach house was comfortable just like home. After a day out we looked forward to coming back just to walk the property, check up on the animals and enjoy the peace and quiet of Irish country. I recommend this place to anyone who rents a car and jet's off to visit around versus being cooped up in a hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Coach House cottage in May and had a lovely stay. The cottage itself is quite large, spacious, and well maintained. The location is a great base for touring the area. The resident peacocks were a definite highlight, peeking in on us through the windows and glass doors hoping for handouts. Sadly no handouts were forthcoming so they would eventually wander away but we enjoyed seeing them and listening to their hilarious meowing every day! David and Liz were both very lovely people and were simultaneously helpful and non-intrusive. Some things to know before you arrive: You will need 2 euro coins in order to maintain power/electricity in the cottage. 2 euros will already be put into the little box before you arrive and that lasts for about a day or two, but if getting change may be an issue, bring some 2 euro coins in advance. You won't need very many. They last a long time if you don't use a lot of power. The stairs in the cottage are a tight spiral and fairly steep which could be an issue for those with mobility issues, young children or for larger/taller individuals. We are both fairly (relatively speaking!) young and didn't have any issues, but they did get a bit slippery in socked feet so I took to wearing slippers with grippy soles. The style of the stairs is attractive and really opens up the space and makes for a gorgeous big kitchen/living room area. We were at the cottage in May and the donkey's were fairly... ahem... enthusiastic at that time of year and there was a lot of vocalization day and night. It is a farm and it added to the charm to some extent, but be prepared in advance if you are a light sleeper. We can sleep through pretty much anything so we only really noticed it when awake and we were out exploring most of the time anyway! We found the bedrooms quite comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped. You obviously need to bring your own groceries, but there were some odds and ends left by previous guests, so it might not hurt to arrive at the cottage before going out to get your supplies so you can see what is already there first. For example they may already have salt and pepper, laundry soap or washing up liquid (aka dish soap) so why buy it if you don't need to? The location was relatively close to the Avoca Woolen Mill, the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough which was wonderful. As I said, it was a great base for exploring. We would definitely stay again if back in the area and have already recommended it to friends.

Would stay here again, owner very friendly and the stove was alight when we arrived in the dark and cold of a November night. Best trips out was visit to Powerscourt, the beautiful coastal walk from Greystones to Bray and a walk up in the mountains at Glendalough.

This cottage owned by Liz and David is fantastic. Set in beautiful countryside not far from Gorey, with outstanding views. Both Liz and David are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The cottage is spacious, with a beautiful log burner in the front room. The area is great for dog walking and a trip to Glendalough is very much recommended. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful countryside. Also great value for money.

We are just home from a wonderful break in this cottage. The owners David and Liz are very friendly and helpful . The surroundings are beautiful with a lake and plenty of friendly animals. We enjoyed the company of the two peacocks - tame enough to feed by hand. The cottage is warm and inviting and ideally situated to explore the area. The electric gates leading to the property make it a safe environment for children. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Owners were friendly and told us about the area. The house was in a lovely setting and at night the quiet was just so relaxing, not a streetlight in sight. Good walks on farm and would be child friendly with all the pet animals. Lots to see and do in the area and just wandering around the towns and villages or craft shops.
August 2014
My friend and I stayed here in June and we found it an ideal location for visiting surrounding areas. David and Liz were very helpful, in fact we found everybody in Ireland was very helpful. The views were fantastic and we loved Percy the peacock.
September 2014
A lovely open plan modern cottage. Cannot fault the quality of the workmanship in this semi detached conversion. The owners are lovely people, very kind and helpful and totally unobtrusive. The location is isolated and a car essential. The relative peace is only disturbed by the early dawn chorus along with a few native animals and Percy the peacock and his brood. This is the ideal holiday for those who wish to explore the local area and who prefer to be off the beaten track.

This property was even more beautiful than the pictures show. The cottage was immaculate, completely in order, and very comfortable. The hosts were incredibly kind, available, and always willing to help. Thank you for a vacation that far exceeded any expectation or hopes we had. I hope our next vacation leaves us as happy as this one did! Thank you so much!! I can't recommend this property enough!

This cottage was in a perfect location for visiting relatives. The cottage had everything we needed and the wood burning stove was a bonus. Liz and David helped make our stay very enjoyable. The visiting 2 cats, dog, 3 ducks and a peacock made mornings very interesting! Wonderful views and on a clear night the stars were amazing.
June 2012
The Coach House is run by Liz and David and they couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and informative about the farm itself, the area and places we could go and visit. The location is wonderful - very rural, with rolling views as far as the eye can see. The farm boasts geese, horses, cats, westies and a peacock who has a tendency to visit for breakfast. The cottage is extremely welcoming - it just invites you to cosy up in front of the wood burner and relax. If you want to get out and about, (and we did), you're less than 2 hours drive from Waterford (crystal extravanganza), an hour from cosmopolitan Dublin, and within spitting distance of various little villages, towns and interesting things to visit (recommend the mill at Avoca to watch hand weaving in action). Both large double bedrooms have en suite shower rooms, the rocking chair on the landing is a nice homely touch. The downstairs space is wonderful, providing everything you could want (dishwasher, washing machine, fully fitted kitchen, table to seat 8, couches, throws, candles - you get the picture) and also has outside space available - a table and benches where you can sit and eat al fresco, but also a wonderful iron swing - the perfect place to sit with a drink and admire the views.

The cottage was immaculately presented and the owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location was stunning and our young children enjoyed the farm, lake and the animals.

Lovely relaxing break for ourselves and our two shih tzu's. The use of the wood stove was greatly appreciated as we like a warm home. Will definitely return again soon.

We had a wonderful stay in this property. The owners were very welcoming. It is a beautiful setting and easy driving distance to Gorey and surrounding areas. It was also very family friendly. My kids loved seeing the peacocks and animals. We would highly recommend.
