A quiet country farm unspoilt by modern day noise and intrusion. Just natural country life with farm animals and wild life, but with helpful hosts to advise on any aspect of our holiday.

April 2014
An unforgettable family holiday, especially for the children who were in their element on a working farm. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, they went out of their way to give our family a wonderful experience taking us round the farm, inviting the children to watch (and taste) ice-cream being made on site, help feed the calves and even bringing lambs and a duck with her ducklings to the farm for them to meet. Overall the accommodation was excellent and there is plenty to do in the local area.

The big attraction of this property is that it is on a working farm. Our grandchildren were in heaven watching the cows being milked, leading small calves into a field, feeding lambs and playing in the fields. Pickering is a good centre for touring local attractions and the coast.
Mrs Davidson

Being a working farm was fun for the kids, they were over the moon to feed the newborn calves. Being a place of low light pollution, we had fun seeking out the night stars and looking for shooting stars though most turned out to be satellites.
Mrs Harrington
March 2012
The friendliness of the family and willingness to show us the farm and, in particular, allow our toddler to help (she collected eggs with owners child and was invited to watch milking etc). Also, the cottage was very spacious and had plenty of room for the kids. The attention to detail regarding safety was also appreciated, with a stairgate upstairs and the offer to mount one downstairs if we wished.
Mrs Cameron

The farmer, his wife and his family were welcoming and friendly. The property is great for children and teenagers who have an interest in farming the countryside and animals. Wythe Syke Farm is highly recommended and if it wasn't so far away we would definitely stay again.

We had a great time in this cottage - the family who own it live next door in the farmhouse and were very friendly, especially the children who were great company. The cottage is very comfortable, a home from home and near lots of excellent amenities (the kids loved Flamingo Land...) The enclosed garden with toys was a real boon for our 2 year old too. All in all this was a great value holiday!

Welcomed with a dozen fresh eggs on the table :-) Free range chickens & lambs, cows wandering past twice a day.... proper working farm, where they make their own stunning ice cream too. Well equipped, with wonderfully comfortable beds. Lots of space. Ideal for 3 generations to share. Really enjoyed staying here - would definitely recommend :-)

It was perfectly suitable for a family and the property was spacious but still cosy. With 4 children, the fact it opened directly on to the enclosed garden was a huge bonus. Being on a working farm was fascinating and educational for all of us.
October 2013
We had a wonderful week. The house was clean and tidy and had everything you needed to be a home from home. family who own farm could not have been more friendly. Homemade ice cream on site very delicious!! Lots to do in area. If taking family would recommend flamingo land was quite pricey but well worth it

Me, my wife, and kids (two boys aged 2 and 5) count ourselves extremely lucky to have found such a great place to stay during the October half-term holiday. It was very comfortable and homely, with everything you need, and ideally located for day trips around Yorkshire (which has an enormous amount to offer). Though we were left to enjoy our own privacy, it was a privilege to be shown around the farm by the warm and friendly owners - it was truly eye opening for the kids and indeed ourselves. All in all I'd say it was one of our favourite holidays and we'd definitely go again. I'd highly recommend this wonderful place.

A lovely holiday in a beautiful part of Yorkshire, within close range of many tourist attractions and lovely villages and towns. We were warmly welcomed and the facilities were ideal for our young family. The house was well equipped and if we had any problems the owners were always quick to help. The garden was large and great for the kids to play in. Lots to do and see in and around Pickering, which is just up the road from the farm.We would definitely consider returning in the future.

Very welcoming family, lovely comfortable and warm accommodation and good farm stay experience with all the animals. Great to be able to sample ice cream and the many breeds of hens eggs ! Would definitely book up here again for myself and my family ( my teenagers loved it ). Thanks to the whole family at Wythe Syke Farm for such a lovely and memorable holiday.

Lovely, spacious, comfortable cottage with an enclosed, well-equipped play area for children, so we could relax as the children played happily. Good location for great choice of atractions for all the family.
