The Courtyard Carlingford description

The Courtyard Carlingford is a newly developed self-catering accomodation village, constructed from the remains of a family run 18th century farm yard.

Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Ballagan, Carlingford, The Courtyard is ideally situated for exploring nearby Carlingford and the beautiful Cooley pensinsula. The shore is a mere 5 minute walk.

The development is comprised of four self catering houses:

1.The corner house
2.The Stables
3.The Forge and
4.The Tearaways

All houses are three bedroomed and can sleep eight to nine people. All units are luxuriously specified and include the full range of modern amenities. They boast fully fitted kitchens including, cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, delph and cooking equipment.
A spacious sitting room / living room area with television / DVD player and a fully enclosed garden perfect for the family and safe for children. All houses are wheelchair accessible and maintained to the highest possible standard.


There are an abundance of things to do and see in Carlingford and the surrounding areas. Whether you are into adventure, sports, nature, sightseeing, eating out or socialising you will find something to meet your needs.

Pets can be accomodated, subject to prior arrangement.

Payments & Deposits
Our typical payment arrangement is as follows: 25% Deposit on booking. Deposit is refundable as long as a cancellation is received 4 weeks or more before arrival. Total cost is not refundable if less than 1 weeks notice is given - SORRY, STRICTLY NO EXCEPTIONS. €100 refundable security deposit payable before arrival per apartment to cover any loss/damage or additional cleaning other than the normal and will be refunded no later than one week after departure.

Directions from Dublin
Drive North on the M1.
Turn off the motorway at the Dundalk North turn off (junction 18)
You will now be 1 Mile north of Dundalk, at the roundabout take the R 173 for Carlingford / Greenore.
Continue for 14KM
Turn to you right (at the Cooley Inn) and follow the road up the hill. Continue for 1 km, until you come to a large Church on the left hand side. Continue on for 1 mile and take the first left hand turn on the road. We are the first farmyard on the right hand side (¼ Km down).

Directions from Belfast
Take the M1 from Belfast.
Turn on the A1 to Newry.
Head towards Newry, follow the signs for Carlingford / Omeath (towards the Quay shopping centre).
Turn left at the traffic lights for Omeath/Carlingford taking you alongside the canal on your left & the shopping centre on your right.
Drive straight through Omeath and then on through Carlingford (approx. 15km), and straight on to the "T" junction at the end of the road.
Turn to the right at the "T" junction and take the first left (at the Cooley Inn), follow the road up the hill. Continue for one km, until you come to a large Church on the left hand side. Continue on for 1 mile and take the first left hand turn on the road. We are the first farmyard on the right hand side (¼ Km down.)
