Beautiful cottage and scenery around, very peaceful and tranquil. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would love to be able to visit again some time in the future and thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone going to the Peak District. So central to lots of places to visit.

Delightful setting without being 'isolated'. There were walks from the door and left to enjoy our break as we wanted but with the knowledge that there was assistance available if required.

This was an especially good property. Definitely the best furnished, well-kept and highest quality one bedroom property at which I've lodged over the past 20 or so years. The owners were also friendly and pleasant. The property is in a very quiet and peaceful location less than half a mile to the south of Tideswell and is handy for most parts of the Peak District.

We loved the overall position, comfort and set up of the cottage. It was the best appointed cottage we have visited out of the many we have been to on previous trips to the UK. There were many walks nearby with beautiful scenery and it was also within an easy walk to the village of Tideswell.

The cottage was well-placed for walking on trails and into the hilly areas as well as excellent access to stately homes and other attractions eg. caverns/caves at Castleton.

The Croft was one of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in, every little need was catered for. We had cosy evenings watching the films, after we had walked in the beautiful countryside around Tideswell.

We have stayed in many cottages on our frequent trips to the UK, and Croft Cottage rates as one of the best. Plenty of excellent walks within close proximity and a lovely village with ample facilities.

This cottage had a fantastic location. Lots of good walks. National Trust properties and other good places to visit in the vicinity. Good supermarkets in Buxton only a few miles away. Beautiful cottage with absolutely everything you could possibly want. Warm welcome from the owners. Comfortable sofa. Everything was perfect.

The property is one of the very best we have stayed in. Everything has been thought of, even a list of suggested walks from the front door. Very comfortable, and furnished with care and quality. The owners are extremely helpful and very friendly but not intrusive. A really fabulous place to stay. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this delightful holiday accommodation in mid-July. In an elevated and sunny position just outside, but within walking distance of Tideswell, it gave us easy access to Buxton and Bakewell and to the best of Derbyshire's magnificent scenery, walking and cycling routes and country houses. The Croft is adjacent to the owners' house - they gave us a warm welcome. We had a lovely stay in very nicely furnished and well-planned accommodation. We were very comfortable and well-equipped - everything had been thought of. There was an excellent choice of books and DVDs. We had our own little garden with seating and table - and horses over the fence. It was just perfect.

From our research of the area and the reviews of past visitors we were expecting the location and the accommodation to be good; but we were thrilled with everything about both as they exceeded our expectations. The Croft had everything we needed and more including detailed instructions and maps for a number of local walks. Even the weather improved through the week allowing us to really enjoy some of these delightful walks; but it should also be said that there is no shortage of places to visit within a few miles particularly National Trust properties. A short stroll away in Tideswell are stores, fish and chip shops and pubs providing an affordable variety of good quality food. Our visit has given us a taste for The Peak District, for Tideswell and for the Croft and we look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

A fantastic cottage in a wonderful and stunning location. On arrival our hosts greeted us and the cottage was warm and cosy. We were provided with a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which was so thoughtful. The croft is beautifully decorated and attention to detail is superb. They really have thought of everything. This is a perfect base for long walks and for sightseeing. Very close to Buxton and Matlock. We visited Manchester by train. Only an hour away. The location was peaceful and we slept so well here. With Misty the pony right outside our window the Croft really is a superb holiday getaway. A hidden gem in the Peak District

The Balmaha is a lovely place to stay. The place is hidden away up a country lane, but when you get here, you won't be disappointed. They have thought of everything that you may need for your stay and more. The ground floor apartment is spotless and the bed is lovely and comfy! Jill and Campbell are fantastic hosts and are around only when needed! They even offered to collect us from the local pub!! Would recommend to any couple wanting to get away from it all.

The owners were lovely and had thought of everything we could have needed. The cottage was well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable. There was plenty of information about the local area, walks and places to eat and drink. The cottage is just outside a small town (easy walking distance) in the middle of some lovely countryside. Easy driving distance to Bakewell and access to the Peak District.
