The Gelding is a lovely cottage, with everything you need.. Great location for enjoying North Yorkshire. Beautiful country walks plenty of abbeys and houses to visit and the Yorkshire coast to enjoy. The Roman camp was every interesting especially at night looking for nightjars, looking for the rare Duke of Burgundy butterfly, and sitting in with the monks while they sang at Ambleforth Abbey which is a must to visit with beautiful views, lovely walks finishing with rereshments in the tea-room

The Gelding Cottage was a homely base to come back to each day and set in a quiet rural village with nice rambles from the door. Wrelton is an excellent location and base to explore the North Yorkshire countryside and coast. There were quiet roads, beautiful moors and coastline.

The cottage was very clean, reasonably well appointed and homely, well situated for touring this part of Yorkshire. There were the seaside resorts of Whitby and Scarborough within easy driving distance, numerous magnificent stately houses and gardens to see plus well signposted rambles in the Dales. Within walking distance there was a very welcoming village pub which served wholesome food whilst if fine dining was required for a special occasion another hostelry some 2 miles away was excellent and could be recommended.

The cottage was situated well for exploring the Yorkshire Moors and coast. Lovely village location just off the main A170. We could not find fault with the cottage at all, everything was spotless with good furniture.

Situated in a fantastic area, about 1 minute from the local pub, with a lovely friendly landlord. Lovely quiet village, 2 miles from Pickering. Went to the Fox and Rabbit for a lovely Sunday lunch, which is only 7 minutes away. I would definitely recommend this cottage, fantastic location for walks, cosy and well equipped.

Stayed at this lovely cottage over the weekend of 6/7 December. Large open plan sitting room and kitchen. Two good sized bedrooms with ensuite facilties in both. Bitterly cold but the cottage was lovely and warm. Very well equipped, everything you need for a weekend break or a week long stay. Very quiet and peacful. Very friendly and helpful owners live nextcottage but one. They give you a very warm welcome but then leave you to enjoy your stay.

my husband and i were very pleased with the geldings, the cottage is spacious, lovely kitchen and both bedrooms are a good size with plenty of wardrobe space and the owners are very nice and helpful. The area is fantastic for all age ranges, lovely places to visit, whitby is very interesting and would have liked more time in york as thers so much to see, very historic. we had some great days walking and the hole of horcum is a great walk for all abilities. for a treat go to bettys tearooms in harrogate a real experience! our only wish is that the showers had been more upto date as it was hard to control the temperture levels and an enclosed shower cubicle would have been better in the second bathroom but we would definately book this cottage again.
