The owner was very helpful with local info etc. We stayed during the worst storm the country has had in years but the cottage was sturdy and we were very warm and cosy. I would highly recommend it!

It was in a nice, quiet location but within easy access of the local village which had two excellent Irish pubs. A good basic cottage to spend time in and tour this area of Ireland.

We loved the get away from it all factor, the quietness, the location to Terryglass, and first class pubs and live entertainment by very professional traditional Irish musicians, very special. Very nice owner, welcoming and accommodating. Just what we needed.

The style of the furniture, the big garden with gravel and grass-part, the friendliness of the owner.

We went for three days and we really liked it. Very clean and tidy, with a nice forest walk nearby and lots of green garden. The fact that it was pet friendly (not only "pet allowed", but truly friendly) was excellent, as we took two energetic Jack Russells that had the time of their lives. It is a bit remote, so it's better to arrive with a car to get the most of the nearby villages and natural sites, but the owner was kind enough to lend us bikes (no extra charge!) and we got around with those. The kitchen is small but has everything, and if you are a foodie, I'd recommend that you arrive with the ingredients you like (the have all the utensils we needed, and we cooked a lot!). If the weather is nice, you can even have your lunch in a lovely garden table or bring it to a picnic in the forest!

My husband and I were staying 2 weeks in Ireland and wanted a restful holiday before beginning our drive around Ireland. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute in this picturesque area with 2 fabulous Pubs in Terryglass and traditional Irish music on Sundays / walks / bike-riding and water with the Lough nearby. Just what we needed.

My husband and I stayed in this simple, cozy, and all around lovely cottage during the first week of our two-week honeymoon in Ireland. We hadn't told Niall it was our honeymoon until we arrived, and he immediately ran to grab a bottle of champagne to congratulate us. That really represented our entire visit. Niall provided us with the perfect balance of hospitality and privacy. We enjoyed peaceful walks to the bog nearby, the beautiful area surrounding the Granary, and the lively and quaint local pub. We took several day trips during our time there, and Niall helped us with planning many of them. It was the perfect place to relax and explore, and we couldn't have been happier with our stay.

I enjoyed my stay at The Granary cottage very much. Niall Heenan, the owner, is a wonderful man and did his very best to look after an American traveling solo with her cats. I came to North Tipperary to ride and within the span of an hour Niall had organsed it so that I was able to get on a hunt for the next morning. I will be coming back to this cottage again with my family. The cottage has everything that you could need on a little retreat.

The granary is located in a beautiful rural setting. Just the place to unwind, and also close enough to civilization if required. It is comfortable and well appointed. The sauna and laundry are a great plus. Th only problem encountered was that the cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils were not properly clean and needed to be washed prior to use.
