The Granary description

The Granary is a stone-built barn conversion located in the quiet countryside, just outside the village of Lewdown, in West Devon. It is a well-appointed detached holiday property with an enclosed courtyard garden, just a short walk from the village, where there is a pub and a local shop. Adjacent to the owner’s home, The Granary would suit a couple or a small family group who would like to visit this unspoilt area and enjoy the many delights the area has to offer. There are some lovely walks into the surrounding countryside directly from the property. Roadford Lake is nearby and a great destination for a good walk. Dingles Steam Museum is also worth a visit during your stay.
The local town of Okehampton, often referred to as the gateway to Dartmoor, has a good range of shops and local amenities. There are plenty of walks in Dartmoor for all ages and abilities, to enjoy this stunning and dramatic area, as well as some pretty village pubs and tea rooms. Towards the coast there are many fine beaches and coves including Saunton, Woolacombe and Westward Ho!. A trip to Lundy Island can be arranged from Bideford pier.
There are numerous places of interest close by including the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village of Clovelly. Visit Castle Drogo (NT), the last castle to be built in England. For those wanting to travel a bit further, the A30 is a great link into North Cornwall and its many attractions, including the Eden Project and Padstow. There is golf at Okehampton and Ashbury, or you can hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail at Great Torrington. Shop and pub 600 yards.
