Winners of a 2015 Visit England ROSE award for service excellence, the owners of The Granary have been recognised for truly going the extra mile for their guests.The Granary at Tudor Barn is a detached, converted property, set in its own landscaped courtyard garden adjacent to the owners’ 16th-century barn, which is itself situated in 3 acres of rural land with a pond and surrounded by countryside and wildlife. It lies just outside the quaint village of Sutton Valence and is accessed by a quiet, single track lane. Completely restored, the property has a light, open feel with floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area, and is suitable for a romantic break or family holiday, with opportunities for walking, cycling, and birdwatching. It is also well placed for visiting many local NT properties including Sissinghurst, Stoneacre, Smallhythe, Bodiam Castle and Leeds Castle. There is fishing locally as well as many golf courses, and balloon rides and light aircraft flights over Kent countryside are available from Headcorn Aerodrome, a 10-minute drive. Canterbury with its cathedral, city walls, boat trips, shops and restaurants, is a 40-minute drive. The delightful Cinque Port town of Tenterden is a 25-minute drive, with its picturesque high street, antique shops, restaurants and Kent & East Sussex Railway. Medieval Rye is 20 minutes on from Tenterden and a sand dune beach at Camber can be found a further 5 minutes away. The Eurotunnel, with its 35-minute crossings, is about 35 minutes away, for easy day trips to France. Headcorn is 4 miles for most facilities. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 1 mile.
