The Granary is a unique accommodation and deserves it's 4 tick status. A cottage in a super easy location for walking and photography and there was no sense that there was any limit to the places that we could do both. The design of The Granary is particularly interesting and staying there was like having accommodation straight out of Grand Designs.

The Granary was in a great location was spotless and had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable. Both owners were friendly and welcoming and I got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for them to make your stay enjoyable however given there was everything needed in the property we didn't need to disturb them I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and intend to make a return visit .

The Granary is a delight! It is a tiny jewel of a property with spiral staircases between 3 floors. It is very well equipped, with everything you could need for a comfortable week in a beautiful, quiet part of the country. We had wonderful weather over the Easter week.

We loved the wood burning stove with a plentiful supply of wood to burn which was included in the cost of the rental. The welcome gifts of chocolates, wine and milk were much appreciated and a nice touch. The quality of the kitchen and it's equipment were of a very high standard.

The property is finished to a particularly high standard with tasteful little homely touches. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you need to be self sufficient on a cosy break. The log burner and efficient electric heaters meant that we were snug and very warm. The enclosed garden was perfect for our escape artist Fox Terrier. We'll be back!

Our last minute booking of The Granary was certainly worth it. The cottage is situated amongst the beautiful countryside surrounded by green fields and rolling hills. We received a very warm welcome from our host as well as Amber the horse. The cottage is equipped with every mod con you would need and is extremely cosy and comfortable.

Friendly owners who catered to our every need. Well equipped cottage with sharp food preparation knives. Spectacular views of the Eden Valley and fells from the cottage. Enclosed private grassed backyard and central location for access to the Eden Valley. We thoroughly enjoyed our four week stay and were sad to leave.

We loved the location, it was a lovely rural setting, and we felt we were returning to a very relaxing, peaceful retreat. We needed some rest and relaxation, and this was perfect. The bath and stove were two things that we loved, and the television in front of the bath was fabulous. The property is done to a very high standard. The owners are lovely, they have the right balance of being friendly but also giving you privacy. Would love to return one day.

We spent a week here as our last trip before our first baby arrived. It was a really lovely place to stay, romantic, relaxing and exactly what we needed. It was a great spot for exploring the Lake District but also for hunkering down and doing very little except eating Snap fish and chips (it made us both want a roll top bath in the bedroom at home!) The owners are welcoming and generous (it was my husband's birthday and they left us wine and chocolates to celebrate). Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 7 nights in October. We were given a warm welcome and loved our stay. The cottage is very well maintained and offers everything you would need for a relaxing stay. Whilst the tight winding stair cases would be difficult for those less able, we thought it only added to the charm of the property. Facilities were excellent, full kitchen with everything you need, fire, big TV, lovely big bath, and lots of ideas for days out. Although the cottage is attached to the owners main house we were left to enjoy ourselves in complete privacy with a private garden and entrance. They were very helpful and approachable which definitely makes it a more enjoyable experience. Set in beautiful country side, the only slightly negative thing we can think of is maybe a little too secluded. Nearest pub (that we found) is driving distance. Will definitely recommended to friends and family and return sometime in the future.

The cottage is absolutely immaculate, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it is not within walking distance of a pub or even a shop.

The Granary was absolutely beautiful! very modern decor, completely spotless, every you could possibly need was provided! milk, sugar, tea, coffee was provided which made the first night very easy! a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates were also provided which was a lovely touch! A gas BBQ was also provided and was very easy to use! the local area is absolutely lovely, on a working farm which was lovely to explore!!! the owners were extremely lovely and welcoming! there is very easy access off road parking, right by the cottage! overall it was an absolutely lovely place with lots to do and see in the surrounding area! and on rainy days the cottage was lovely to relax in! i will be returning, this place is perfect!!!!! excellent value for money!

We loved the cottage, the owners were very kind and helpful, their dog was wonderful Ollie our dog misses her. A perfect situation to get to all the lakes without staying in the middle of it all as it get a little crowded at times. The bath in the bedroom is very good for drinking wine in while watching tv. We will go again very soon we hope.
