The house was lovely with good quality furnishings and nicely decorated. We were met by the owner on arrival and received a warm and friendly welcome. We use Sykes for Pickering holidays every year and this is tops for accommodation and location.

A lovely bungalow which was decorated and furnished to a high standard by the owner. Located only a short walk from the centre of Pickering with parking at the bungalow for 2 cars which is convenient. Would highly recommend.

The property was very well maintained and ideally situated for excellent bus services to York, Whitby and Scarborough and others, we didn't use the car all the week until we packed it to come home. A lovely week at The Hollies and we hope to return another time.

An extremely warm, homely bungalow, it felt like the sort of property you could live in, not just visit; felt instantly at home. Have already recommended to friends and will return.

We particularly liked the warm welcome given by the owner of the Hollies on our arrival This was one of the best properties we have stayed in; everything was first class making it very warm and welcoming to return to after a days sight-seeing.

The Hollies is of a very high standard. We have been to Pickering many times and this is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We particularly like Pickering in winter because we can visit so many favourite places, York, Helmsley, Malton, Whitby. Pickering is a lovely small town and we will definitely be back for next new year

The best Sykes cottage we have stayed in - what a shame it is going to be more popular, we want to keep it for ourselves!

This bungalow was the best self catering accommodation we have had in over 50 years of holidays. It is excellent in every way.

We use holiday cottages many times a year around the UK and can definitely say that this is one of the best we have stayed at. The beds were very comfortable giving a good nights sleep and it was nice to wake up and look out on the garden which was so beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend to others.

Where to begin with our comments - The Hollies is beautiful! Everything about it is perfect. The accommodation is most definitely 5 star. We relaxed after busy days in reclining armchairs, slept in the most wonderfully comfortable beds and cooked in a well equipped kitchen. Being slightly away from the main hustle and bustle of Pickering was definitely an advantage as was the off road parking of this property. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to make a return visit in the near future.

A spotless cottage with a very welcoming owner. Had easy access to town and all its facilities. It was comfortable, bright and well-equipped.

This is a lovely bungalow with a contemporary look beautifully transformed by the owners who we met upon arrival to explain how everything worked. Parking for 2 vehicles on the drive and only a short walk into town. Facilities excellent with good quality equipment and even basics provided to keep you going like tea coffee and biscuits. Lounge a decent size with more than enough room for 4 people. Beds very comfy with plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and mirrors in both rooms which is good if like us, you are travelling as 2 couples and both females need to put makeup on or dry their hair. The bungalow is just off the main road into Pickering with a garage and shop at the end of the road. There are a couple of supermarkets in town close to the railway station. You can use the recreation club opposite if you don't want to go far and there is a swimming pool just around the corner. We went into Picketing both nights and would recommend the Black Swan for food but book as it does get busy and they stop serving food at 8.30pm. Would also recommend the wine bar on the high street. On Saturday we drove to Helmsley which has a lovely square to walk round with 3 pubs if you get thirsty. Ventured into Pickering on the Sunday to see the arrival of the Flying Scotsman but not many shops or cafes open for the early morning arrival. Overall a fantastic place for a weekend break and I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again. Thank you Peter I will pass your booking details to friends and family.
