The Linhay description

Holiday home
The Linhay is a detached barn conversion situated on the owners' livestock farm, 0.7 miles from the Devon village of Sheepwash. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of one ground floor double with a freestanding bath and a first floor twin room, as well as a ground floor shower room. The cottage also has a kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and woodburning stove. Outside, there is off road parking for one car, an enclosed lawned garden with a patio and furniture and use of a private, grass landing airstrip, subject to availability depending on weather conditions. The Linhay is a delightful base for a holidaying in Devon.

The village of Sheepwash is set in the peaceful Torridge Valley in Devon. Sheepwash offers a shop and a traditional pub, serving good food and locally brewed ales. Many walks are available in the area, plus the coastal towns of Bude, Clovelly, Bideford and Westward Ho! are within reach.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

The Linhay is a very comfortable holiday home. It is situated on a small farm near a friendly village and is a great base from which to explore Devon and north Cornwall in all directions. The owners could not be nicer.

There was four adults in our party. The welcome by the owner and family was very warm. The accommodation was first class one of the best I have stayed in. I would rebook at this cottage.

Everything has been great, the property was as we expected, if not better and the whole process from browsing your website to booking to communication of relevant information has been first class. I would have no hesitation in booking with you again

Absolutely loved the remote location and being on the farm with all the animals. The accomdation was very modern and extremely clean and warm considering the double height space. The quality of the finishes was superb. Our hosts were perfect and welcoming but also left us to enjoy our first family holiday together.

A really comfortable cottage to return to whatever the weather threw at us. The welcome from the owners was second to none. The four dogs are great characters and very friendly, if you have food on you they will find it! The surrounding countryside is beautiful, various walks available from the property and many places of interest to visit. We hope to return later this year as there is so much still to explore.

The cottage was amazing and finished to a very high standard. The owners gave us some very good tips on places to visit. The cottage was the perfect base for our week in Devon, we will definitely go back there soon.

A very enjoyable break in a lovely setting. Everything we wanted from a countryside setting. The Tourist Board Star Grade rating is in my opinion incorrect. I think 4 stars is more reflective of the setting rather than the 3 stars given.

The lovely family made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The barn was lovely and all the animals made the holiday. The location was good. Overall, a great holiday and great accommodation, would recommend.

Liked everything from start to finish. The owner and his family are very welcoming and accommodating. The cottage is fantastic, as is the countryside and the farm, the kids loved the very friendly dogs and feeding the lambs, chicks etc. There were lots of nice towns within a thirty minute drive, and nice walks also. Thanks for making this one of the best and most enjoyable holidays we have had. Very highly recommended.

We absolutely loved it. The cottage was exactly as we hoped and the owners made us very welcome. We loved the animals and I have fallen in love with a goat! I wouldn't change a thing, and will definitely be back again for a longer period. Missing the friendly dogs as well.
