We liked the peaceful surroundings and the closeness to the woods; it was especially handy to go and explore with younger children. The cottage was very cosy with a wood burner. We all had a lovely time; it was just what this family needed, thank you!

We enjoyed a fantastic break at The Lodge Farm Barn. The Barn itself is welcoming and well equipped. We made good use of the wood burning stove and the local surrounding area for walking and cycling. The owners were excellent hosts and we would certainly recommend booking a stay here if you are travelling to the beautiful Wye Valley.

It was a lovely place to stay, so quiet and good for relaxation. If it was not that far away from Germany we would stay there every summer! The Family was very helpful when we needed something and the barn was a wonderful home for that week. We had everything we wanted and we would recommend it to people who would like to recover in really quiet surroundings.

November 2013
Our hosts were the most gentle of folk, always available, but not intrusive. This tucked away little gem will be used by us again and again. The on-site farmhouse kitchen produces some excellent 'homemade' food, and should be tried by all visitors.
Mr Sandham

This property was of a high standard in a lovely setting. It was perfect for a quiet, relaxing break particularly from urban life! The owners were on site and were very welcoming, particularly as we arrived, the cottage was warm and a log fire had been lit.....the cottage had everything to meet our needs and I would recommend this as a perfect base to explore the surrounding area.

The barn was in a beautiful location in a very peaceful valley. Friendly and helpful hosts. Extremely well equipped with a wide range of kitchen equipment, hammock, chimaera, BBQ, toys, books etc. It was useful to have WiFi and the apple cake was a delicious welcome. The nearby river was great for kayaking and local walking is good with footpaths from the cottage. Ross-on-Wye was only a short distance away with all its amenities including the town swimming pool. We had a very relaxing week and would thoroughly recommend it.

We had a delightful 6 nights at Lodge Farm Barn in September 2015. We were a group of three, a married couple and a single friend. The house has two upstairs bedrooms each with an ensuite. The kitchen is very well equipped for a self catering holiday, simply perfect. The location of this house is quiet and peaceful and the perfect base to explore the beautiful Wye and western Cotswolds areas. Thanks again John for the "fizzy drink" for Peter's birthday, a very nice gesture. Overall a perfect break. Peter and I are hoping to return soon.
September 2012
This cottage is set in a very quiet locality. It is not really suitable for anyone without transport because of the out of the way location. The cottage is reasonably well equipped although some additional items such as a tray would be helpful. Because of the location mobile telephone reception is virtually zero. Although Internet connection is available it is difficult within the cottage. A good location for visiting the forest of dean and the welsh border.
