We enjoyed the peace, quiet and beautiful scenery. The property had an unbelievably comfy bed with good quality bedding and towels. Great hot and powerful shower.

Couldn't fault the property at all. Owners very friendly and helpful, the views fantastic, it was quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a romantic break or honeymoon as it was for us.

It was extremely comfortable with 1st class furnishings and spotlessly clean, the view was fantastic.

The location of the Lodge was fantastic. We saw it first around the longest day of the year and the views across the Tyne valley were wonderful. The Lodge was very roomy with a big bathroom containing a bath and shower. The kitchen was very well equipped, although cold outside at times the property was very warm. Horsley was a great location to explore Norhumberland, Cumberland and Durham.

The Lodge is a very well equipped and comfortable cottage kitted out to a very high standard, it was a real pleasure to stay there. The comfy bed and fluffy towels were lovely. We stayed in February and relied upon the central heating, which was efficient and heated up the space very quickly. This is a brilliant location for either city or country activities with plenty to do, but if the weather does turn against you The Lodge offers a cosy retreat.

The welcome from the owners and their concern that our stay was perfect. Non intrusive but always within a phone call should anything need fixing. The house is well presented and great care (and expense) has gone into it's furnishing.

Great property, very well equipped, had everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Although not stated, the view from the property is very picturesque. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the attention to detail inside showed how much thought went into catering for your needs. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

It was beautifully furnished with really good fittings. It was the most comfortable bed we have slept in, and had sumptuous soft white towels and a lovely welcome pack. Lovely lady owner who was most welcoming. There were wonderful views from all windows and could quite happily live there permanently. It was very quiet in a lovely village with a good pub and excellent coffee shop. Would most definitely go again!

The property is furnished to a high quality. Everything that we needed was provided, the bathroom is very nice. The location is perfect for touring Northumberland, access to east coast beaches being approximately 45 minutes away. Very quiet, ideal for getting away from it all.

Although The Lodge is classed as a studio it large airy and in a wonderful setting. The Owner is warm and welcoming and we loved the welcome basket. The cottage is set in the middle of stunning scenery so it was lovely to sit outside on the small patio and just enjoy the surroundings. It is particularly well sited for easy access to all Northumberland attractions.

We stayed in the Lodge over Christmas. The layout has been well thought out and has everything that we wanted for the stay, we were glad to see that the Lodge has a bath as it is not mentioned on Sykes Cottages, who we booked through. The Lodge is in an excellent location and has wonderful views of the valley, even from indoors, with the blinds open. The weather was as wet and windy as this Christmas has been and the Lodge kept us warm and cosy, we were not aware, when inside that there was a raging gale blowing outside. On Christmas day we had a nice walk down into Wylam and along the Tyne for a short distance, and followed that up with a walk along the wall from Steel Rigg on Boxing day. We were extremely satisfied and would consider the Lodge again if were are staying in the area.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views, well equipped! Please note there are no curtains in the cottage, so if you don't like the sun in the mornings it could annoy you! The bathroom is amazing but the bath is very high with a shower in it, not really suitable for anyone who struggles to lift their legs. Our view over the beautiful countryside was slightly spoiled by 3 cars that were parked outside our patio all week. Didn't see the owners all week, not even a little welcome note (some people in the past have had welcome baskets, but assume this has stopped) the cottage was just left open for us. No inventory either. Still a beautiful place and a very comfy bed. We would come again
