The Loft description

Holiday home
Situated in the old grounds of Eyarth Hall, this 18th century property is a stylishly converted stone-built barn, set in an attractive rural location. In addition to plenty of character charm and original features, the property is also fitted with contemporary fixtures and fittings such as a quality oak kitchen, solid oak floors and doors and an inviting bathroom. With such wonderful countryside surrounding the building, visitors will never be short of things to do and a number of trails and cycle paths are within easy reach.

Area
Situated two miles south of Ruthin is the small village of Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, reached via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. With its imposing 15th Century church, the village is also home to a traditional pub which serves food and is only a few minutes drive from other local amenities. Ruthin itself is over 700 years old and boasts many half-timbered buildings clustered around St Peter's Square. Although the town is packed with many interesting shops, the main attraction is possibly its renowned craft centre, which is home to a number of internationally recognised artists and craftspeople. Also in the near vicinity are Lake Brenig, Moel Famau, Loggerheads Country Park and Clocaenog Forest – all of which provide excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Snowdonia National Park and the Welsh coast are also within easy driving distance.

Region
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

ThThe night skies were amazing. The property was warm and cosy. The scenery was second to none.

October 2014
I liked everything about the cottage. I particularly liked the skylights in the roof, you can lie in bed in the morning and watch squirrels playing in the trees and the cosy fire in the evening.
Ms Nedin
May 2015
Excellent standard of accommodation and was pleased to be able to bring the dog. Had a magnificent view!
Mr Piper
September 2015
A wonderfully spacious cottage for two people in a superb location. Although spacious the main living area was cosy thanks to the high standard of the furniture and fixtures and fittings. The same high standard was also found in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen area. As a family or as a couple we have been to over 60 holiday cottages during the last 35 years, The Loft ranks as one of the best. We cannot wait to go again.
Dr Reid
November 2014
The Loft is a gorgeous cottage in an idyllic place, close to amenities if you need them but remote enough to feel secluded. The decor is warm and cosy and the log burner a great feature. Very dog friendly area and great walks.
Ms Streeting
October 2014
Beautiful views and scenery. A gem of a cottage with wooden beams and a log burner. A splendid cottage which we would visit time and time again as a home from home.
Mrs Secker
April 2014
The cottage was in a really peaceful location, a great place to base your visit from lots of different areas to explore, walks from right out of your front door, also not far from coast, national parks, quaint villages and pubs and very dog friendly. The pictures of the holiday cottage didn't do it justice, it is quite beautiful.
Miss Parnham
June 2014
The cottage was so secluded and fantastically silent aside from the wildlife. It was very beautifully kept and perfect for our little holiday escape. We walked for miles and were in the middle of nowhere. The views were outstanding and the local people were so sweet and helpful. Overall, from the second we arrived until we drove away, the holiday was exactly how we wanted it to be. Thank you!
Mr Mrs Edwards
September 2013
Cottage spacious yet cosy. Lovely quiet setting. Stunning views from the cottage of the Clwydian Mountain Range. Lovely town of Ruthin with its local shops nearby, the butchers is a must for your fresh meat and fish prepared on request. Pleasant walks straight from the cottage or Clwydian Mountain Range just 10 minutes by car, Snowdon an hour away. Cycling from the cottage along the country lanes and bridle ways or a visit to the Llandegla Cycling Centre for the more exciting experienced cyclists. Chester 30 minutes away with lovely shops and historic buildings. Conwy and Llandudno Bay only 30 minutes away. We packed a lot into our two weeks but coming back to the cottage each evening was very relaxing

February 2014
From booking the cottage with the fabulous and helpful staff to leaving, it was a truly fantastic break. The location of the barn is totally outstanding, not to mention the surprise we got when we arrived. It is a home from home, I was very pleasantly surprised at the high standards. The whole barn has been so beautifully restored and thought out, the furnishings are first class. We will be booking again very soon, really fabulous and magical place.
Mrs Kew

A lovely location and a very nice cottage. Everything we needed and more. The pictures on the site did not do this accommodation justice. They looked nice but it was far better than expected; certainly a wow feel to it. Spacious and comfortable, can totally recommend. Would we return... a resounding YES!
Mrs Thompson
September 2013

The cottage was like home from home, felt really comfortable and relaxed. We could visit many places of interest as there were many brochures available to help us decide. There was a lovely touch of fresh flowers and Welsh Cakes on our arrival. The view from the cottage was so beautiful and we had peace and quiet for the whole stay. BLISS

The Loft was even better than the photographs and description in the brochure. It is a beautiful property in a stunning location - quite but not too far away from great days out. It is finished to a very high standard with all 'mod cons' making our holiday relaxing.

The location, facilities and the charm of the cottage were great. The views were spectacular. There was somewhere to walk the dog. Lots of places to drive to and see the wonderful countryside. There were farm shops and a Tesco Co-Op nearby to help us stock up with anything we needed. This holiday is a must if total rest and relaxation is required.

It was a beautiful property and the photos were an excellent representation of what the cottage actually was. Ruthin town was lovely and so were the locals.
Mr Whitford
September 2009
The Loft is set in lovely surroundings with gorgeous views. It is also near lots of things to do, we found we ran out of time and could have stayed longer exploring the area. It was a proper relaxation break, baths every night and chilled champagne in the evening (as we were on honeymoon!). We would definitely recommend and would love to go back ourselves.
Ms Banfield
November 2009

Everything about the cottage was superb; from the location and views, to the fresh flowers in the living area and bedroom. The property is beautiful, retaining plenty of charming features, coupled with all the mod cons we have become so accustomed to. Perfect for a romantic getaway. 10 out of 10!

June 2007
We really enjoyed the fact that The Loft was in a secluded area but only a couple of miles to the nearest town. When we walked into the cottage it had a really good feel to it. Usually cottages for two people are a bit cramped, but not this property. It was well presented and plenty of space. We would definitely go back, especially if you wanted a place away for peace and quiet with good views thrown in.

August 2012
In spite of being awarded five ticks (top marks) in Sykes Cottages brochure, we were extremely disappointed with what we found. Top of a whole list of faults was the fact that the shower didn't function properly and this fault had been first highlighted in the visitors' book three years ago. Next the hot water supply to both the kitchen and the bathroom was virtually non existent. The general upkeep was shoddy with bare wiires on the electric towel rail in the bathroom; a light not working for which there was no sparere bulb; an empty electrical socket; a large cobweb in the corner of the ceiling; filthy garden furniture, etc.

The Loft is a beautiful rental. We were greeted with a home that was warm and decorated to the highest standards.. the owner even included Christmas decorations! I loved every minute of staying there. There are a couple of things that need attention but apart from that, it couldn't have been more idyllic. Thank you so much to the owners- no detail overlooked.

February 2013
This was a very pleasant week's break away from it all in the beautiful Welsh countryside in Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd. We were right at the foot of the Clwydian mountain range, so amazing views were to be seen from the windows of this cosy cottage. It was magical to look at the mountain range dusted with snow, while inside we had the log burner blazing. There are plenty of good walks in the locality, Ruthin itself is a charming village, and it was easy to go a little further afield to the likes of Betws -y-Coed, Llangollen and Llandudno.

Views were stunning, location was great, peaceful & quiet. The negatives were uncomfortable settee, lots of cobwebs on all beams, water pressure very low. No complimentary logs for fire, fire not cleaned out.

December 2009
The cottage was beautifully prepared with fresh flowers and tea and cakes! It was so nice it was hard to leave it. The local area was so scenic with rabbits everywhere you went. The views from the cottage were breathtaking adn the people were warm and friendly. Ruthin was lovely and we would recommend the walk around Llyn Brennig. Denbigh had everything to offer and the pubs and restaurants were great value for money. Caernarfon Castle was amazing! We would also recommend the drive to Chester is was great for shopping and seeing the sights and the town cryer was hilarious! Thanks for a great stay, it was the most relaxing time ever.

June 2010
Very well done conversion. the lounge, dining room and bedroom were excellent. If I was to mention a defect it would have to be the power shower, which was in need of repair or repalcement. that aside, everyting was as we expected and we enjoyed our stay.
