Located just ½ mile from the port of AmbleThis pair of terraced, character holiday cottages stand next door to one another and are in an ideal location for exploring this magnificent coastline peppered with castles and friendly villages. They sit at the northern tip of Druridge Bay in Hauxley, within walking distance of a sandy beach and nature reserve. The Moorings (ref 30161) is an end-terraced cottage and has been restored and furnished to a very good standard. Clutter Cottage (ref 26888) has been restored throughout and enjoys lovely views from the large back garden. It is only two minutes in the car to Amble, reputed to be ‘the friendliest port’, where boat trips can be taken from the still working harbour with a weekly Sunday market, great fish and chips, plenty of eateries, and an award-winning ice cream shop. There are several walking trails of special interest and a variety of wildlife to enjoy nearby. Alnwick, the ducal town famed for the castle used in the ’Harry Potter’ films, and enchanting water gardens, is only 20 minutes, with an abundance of shops and eateries and cobbled streets. A wonderful spot for walkers and cyclists. Within easy reach and worth a visit are Holy Island (accessible at low tide), with its fairytale castle, and Seahouses with boat trips to the Farne Islands. An ideal central location for exploring the whole of this unspoilt, friendly county. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
