The Old Farmhouse Cottage Romantic Cottage description

Holiday home
The Old Farmhouse Cottage is attached to the owner's home and is situated in the village of Button Bridge, close to Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire. This cottage sleeps two people and has one super king-size double bedroom, as well as a family shower room. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with dining area and a double sofa bed. To the outside of this cottage there is off road parking for two cars, a patio area and shared use of the owner's outdoor unheated swimming pool, large garden and lake. There are many attractions and places to see nearby, which makes The Old Farmhouse Cottage an excellent base for a couple.

Button Bridge is a small village set close to Bewdley and Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire. The market town of Bridgnorth is close by, as is the town of Ludlow, both of which are well worth exploring. Other attractions in the area include the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, Stokesay Castle and the West Midland Safari Park.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

The garden was like being in a local park, complete with a large pond with a female duck and 15 ducklings who came up the garden to visit us every day, they were delightful. The accommodation was excellent with a really comfortable large bed and the owner was very hospitable helpful and charming. All in all it was one of the best cottages we have stayed in and hopefully we will be returning.

This beautiful little cottage was a haven of tranquility in the beautiful Wyre Forest. The lounge / dining room was spacious, yet had a warm and cosy feel during our winter stay. The large bedroom with its very big bed, was everything that could be desired. The extensive grounds are beautifully maintained and provide a lovely place to meander. All in all, delightful!

The fishing lake. The garden. The location. The double bed was the best bed I have come across in a rental cottage.

We had a lovely time at The Old Farmhouse Cottage and the owner was a very good host. He made sure we were very comfortable and was friendly. The fishing at the lake was very good, such a lovely part of the country.

The fact that the property was secluded and the owner was very friendly and a pleasant man. The quiet was great, as we have noisy neighbours at home, so that was brilliant. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage was very central to lots of attractions.

An excellent host with lovely reception. spotless cottage in Wyre Forest near Bewdley. Very good walking tracks adjacent to property which has large garden with both swimming pool and fishing pond. Nearby Bewdley has the River Severn with steam railway and safari park.

The location is picturesque and gardens were amazing. We did a little fishing, played football on the tennis courts and my son had a great time running around the huge gardens. Unfortunately despite being august it was too cold to use the pool. The location was perfect but a car is essential. Not a lot is within walking distance, but with a car it was perfectly located to explore the local area. Bewdely was great, and during the school holidays had lots of activities on. It also has a great selection of pubs, restaurants and ice cream shops. There was no mobile signal at the property which is a good or a bad thing depending on what sort of holiday you want, when we were there, there was no wi-fi but this may have changed now. The owners were lovely and the accommodation was spacious and had everything we needed. We tried to book again the following summer but it was already booked up by the time we got organised. I would definitely recommend it.

This cottage is light and spacious. The shared gardens are lovely with someone working on them most days. Then owner is friendly and helpful .The cottage is attached to the owners home, there is a communicating door (bolt on 'your ' side) however cigarette smell filtered through into the Non smoking cottage which was a bit off putting. The sofa and armchairs are rather low which could prove difficult for older people staying there. There are two TVs both quite small . The bedroom is very large with quite the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on! When I turned the oven on to heat it up it smoked so much it set the smoke alarm off! We didn't use it after that.

Our stay at The Old Farmhouse was a real delight. The owner was really helpful and offered to be of help at any time. The property was very comfortable, very roomy and as we went in October was lovely and warm
