We all loved everything about this property, the hot tub was a great hit. The house was lovely and big, the children could play without annoying anybody. There were three generations there and all had a fabulous holiday.

A fantastic cottage with more than enough room and facilities for 17 people without it feeling cramped. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the house is obviously well looked after. The hot tub and gardens were great.

We were all big fans of the hot tub! That aside, The Old Schoolhouse and Cottagwas a large and roomy house with lots of space for solitude if you needed it.

The owner made our stay both easy comfortable and everyone we came into contact with made us feel very welcome. The property was just perfect for our requirements and felt very much like a home. The gardens were stunning and very well kept, a haven for peace and tranquillity. The village was an ideal base to be able to go out in the evening and find somewhere to eat.

This property was perfect for our medical graduates of 1972 reunion. The house was homely, the garden really lovely. All facilities were wonderful and the house was perfectly equipped for catering for large numbers. For those who enjoyed walking, there was a good choice of routes.

The Old Schoolhouse and Cottage is a superb house, gardens and hot tub, thanks. Very friendly owner on site. All well equipped - more crockery and cutlery than we've ever seen anywhere! Great having two dishwashers. Rooms all equally spacious and well furnished so no arguments!

The Old Schoolhouse and Cottage was beautiful, the owner was friendly and at hand when needed. The hot tub was huge and we used it a lot. The fridges and dishwashers made catering for 16 people easy.

The house and cottage had all the facilities (and more) that we could possibly have hoped for. The owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and we all felt really relaxed and at home in the propert(ies). Local amenities were very close at hand, and the area was a delight to explore. We were all very sorry to have to leave when our holiday was over.

We are a group of school friends who meet up every year. This was a fantastic place with the perfect space. We loved being able to set the dining room up for mealtimes and found the buffet sideboard a brilliant addition. It is a character property with a few quirky corners but the furnishings and all beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the garden and hot tub. It is a great property if you have less mobile people with you as there is a ground floor bedroom and full wet room opposite.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable long weekend with our combined family and the property suited us perfectly. There was plenty of space for the children to enjoy themselves and for the adults to sit chatting knowing that the children were entertaining themselves. We plan to return to the property in February with a group of old friends and would thoroughly recommend to others.

A group of 17 came to The Old Schoolhouse for a long weekend to celebrate the retirement of one on us. The house and gardens were amazing! We made excellent use of the hot tub and the wood fire, and catering for 17 was made easier by the abundance of cutlery, glasses etc. Everybody had a brilliant time and without exception said they would recommend it to their friends. The local area, town and pub were all lovely. A thoroughly thoroughly enjoyable time was had any all. Thank you.

Flexible sleeping arrangements and lots of bathrooms. As there were two properties it was very handy to have two kitchens and plenty of room for eating. The owner was great and was around to answer any questions. The weather was fantastic so we made great use of the hot tub and garden. Overall I'd recommend it to any groups as there's something for everyone here. Great location, within walking distance of some lovely pubs and a lovely village/walks etc. Once you've arrived you don't need a car.

The place itself was brilliant, and exactly what my friends and I needed to relax for a week. Plenty was provided for us plus more. We especially enjoyed (and took full advantage of) the hot tub and the outside furniture.

Fabulous old house, with some original features, but modern facilities. There had been no skimping with facilities and basics were supplied such as toilet paper and dishwasher tablets. Plenty of crockery, two dishwashers, two big fridges, freezer. Enormous hot tub was very popular with all ages!
August 2016
My friends booked this for a total of 10 people as part of a year of celebrations. The house is enormous and is extremely comfortable. I was lucky to have one of the twin rooms at the top. There are 4 double rooms on the first level, so plenty of choice. There are dishwashers aplenty, a hot tub after a day of walking, and an Aga which took a little getting used to. The garden is well maintained and there are fresh herbs for cooking. My only concern is the tiny shower room on the first level, but there are 3 others to choose from. Everyone loved this house, the cottage adjacent to it is compact and the 10 of us chose to stick together in the larger property.

This property ticked all our boxes with disabled access and restaurants nearby. We received a warm welcome from the owner who lives on site. Our stay included three generations who all were impressed and enjoyed the property. The property was very well appointed with more than ample crockery and cutlery and two dishwashers to wash them all up in. The hot tub was a big hit with some. The property is situated at the top of the town which boasts two breweries, including the oldest licensed one on the UK and four other pubs, with ridge views on three sides. There is plenty of spaces for several cars, we had five between us and there was room for more.
