This lovely detached holiday home, situated in the grounds of a fruit and arable farm, has been very comfortably furnished to provide super family accommodation. Conveniently all on the ground floor, the spacious and high ceilinged rooms are a nod to the property’s history and its sunny aspect surrounded by a large enclosed garden make it a very good choice for all ages. The building dates back to 1879, when it was the school for the local farming community, and each farm would have had 5 to 6 families working on the farm. In 1900, the property was extended and the school master accommodation was added to the back of the school.
Just 1½ miles from the pleasant market town of Coupar Angus it is in the heart of the fertile and scenic countryside of rural Strathmore and makes a marvellous touring base, being just 14 miles from the fair city of Perth and 12 miles from Dundee. To the north lie the Grampian Mountains, while to the west are the Sidlaw Hills. There are many and varied activities available in the area, good golf is in abundance, as is excellent walking and river fishing. Or visit Glamis Castle, home of the late Queen Mother, with its fascinating history and Scone Palace, home to the Stone of Destiny and also the base for Perth Racecourse. Nearby Kirriemuir is a pleasant town and famous for being the birthplace of JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan. Slightly further afield are the bustling towns of Pitlochry and Aberfeldy.
