We used to holiday in the Peak District when the children were little and were looking for somewhere to recreate these family holidays before one of our daughters leaves to live abroad. I was a little concerned that we might be disappointed but I need not have been. This is a lovely property with plenty of room for six plus a baby - in fact we had 9 for Sunday lunch and there was plenty of room and plenty of plates etc. The cottage is situated in a very quiet village with lovely walks just outside the door. Don't be put off when you first arrive - the cottage looks small from the outside but has plenty of room inside. We were very warm and cosy and didn't need to light the woodburner. The kitchen is well appointed and there was a cot and high chair provided for us. There is no mobile signal, although there is one a few minutes walk down the road and the wifi was a little patchy. However the local pub (50 yds away!) has great wifi which the landlord was happy for us to use for the price of a pint (or 3!). We had an excellent dinner there on our last evening. I can thoroughly recommend this cottage for a relaxing week away from everything except wonderful walks and amazing views (and some cute baby lambs as well!).

Thors Barn was lovely, warm and comfortably furnished with a lovely wood burner and a good starter pack. Very comfortable beds. Situated in a superb location for the peaks and dales with lots of lovely towns and villages to visit.

Beautiful cottage (barn) that had everything that was needed for an comfortable stay. The tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival was a nice touch. The fire was a magnificent centrepiece and added to the cosy feel of the cottage. The pub down the road was very friendly with good beer and food, plus walks from the doorstep added an enjoyable holiday. All in all nothing could be faulted.
