If your looking for a relaxing peaceful holiday then look no further. Throstle Nest Cottage has it all, from the beautiful surroundings, fantastic gardens, birdsong and the sound of the beck running we could have stayed forever. And that's just the outside. The cottage caters for your every need with a small but perfect kitchen that has everything you could need to cook a 5* meal. A snug lounge and large bedroom leads into the bathroom which has further little items should you forget to take shampoo or shower gel Every thought has been given to ensure that you have a stress free holiday. Many thanks to Alison and George for the added extras of scones with butter and jam, milk, tea, coffee and chocolates on arrival, they were very much appreciated. Without doubt we will be back again for another holiday soon. This is the third time we have visited the cottage and the standard stays the same. Elaine John Hayward West Yorkshire.

Throstle Nest is situated in an idyllic spot close to a picturesque beck. The lovely cottage was well equipped and scrupulously clean. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the owners. Additionally, they thoughtfully provided a bird feeder just outside the kitchen window and seemed to have included everything that might be needed to ensure the perfect holiday. Littlebeck is well situated in a beautiful part of Yorkshire, just outside Whitby, and we found plenty to do and see.

May 2014
The setting was peaceful, totally away from everything. The Cottage was excellent, it was exactly what we had wanted and beyond our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, carefully thought about in all you would need, I normally take everything with me but it is not needed as they have thought about everything. The rural setting was so beautiful in a sweet little cottage garden by the Little Beck. I would highly recommend it and the owners are so obliging. We could totally relax and felt very comfortable there, we would definitely return.
Mrs Small

This was a little oasis where you can really get away from it all. Although the owners live next door they respected our privacy as we did theirs. They are a lovely couple who gave us good advice on the local area - and even invited us to a local rose princess and pageant one afternoon.

The property was in a perfect location for us, away from everything. In the evening all you could hear was the stream and the local animals, it was so peaceful and relaxing. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful, you felt you could approach them at any time. If you want to enjoy long walks in a beautiful setting and relax in the evening this is the right cottage for you. We couldn't fault it.
August 2013
We have enjoyed two visits to Throstle nest. The service we received was second to none, nothing was to much trouble, it made our much needed holiday so much more special. We loved the house it was so clean, well decorated and so well equipped you don't need to take anything apart from your clothes!Even toiletries were supplied, lots of thought had been put into the needs in the kitchen, nothing was missing, home from home. The location was amazing, very remote and quiet although we were close enough to Sleights to walk across the fields to shop, visit the pub or go to the very nice garden centre. The shops at Sleighs were lovely village shops.Or a short drive to Whitby and surrounding villages. The surrounding area is so pretty.A really good part about this area is you have the best of both worlds because you have beautiful country side and the seaside as well.we love to walk so we had some woodland walks, cliff top walks and the beach. You also have the steam trains which run to Pickering etc.The cake shops are amazing! And the fish and chips. There is something for everyone. I must say I don't really have any least parts to the holiday location, apart from having to o home
December 2011
Alison and George were perfect hosts nothing was too much trouble and yet they were unintrusive. The cottage was ideal and in a magical place you couldnt fail to enjoy the stay it draws you back like a magnet definately go back
October 2011
Spotless accomodation, warm welcome - scones, homemade jam, tea, coffee and milk awaiting our arrival. Everything needed to make our stay an excellent holiday was provided, including all those essentials - tea towels, detergent, soap, toiletries, toilet rolls, clingfilm, - that are so easy to forget. Even a locker to house our muddy boots. The service was exemplary - the slight problem with the shower was dealt with immediately. The location was quiet, secluded and peaceful - the fords provided no problem (but we didn't anticipate quite so many 1 in 3 gradients!). The reference literature and maps in the cottage meant that we actually needed no advance planning. Our hosts seem to have anticipated every need. We were fortunate in the weather, but had it been wet and cold, the cottage was well heated and spacious. The bird feeder and bird identification book were a thoughtful touch and the the outdoor furniture ideal to enjoy a sunny breakfast or warm evening.
November 2010
The cottage was clean and so comfortable in beautiful surroundings. With home made scones and jam waiting on arrival nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. It is a little piece of heaven on earth in a beautiful part of the country couldnt have asked for any more. We hope to revisit.
November 2010
What a wonderful place to stay. Tranquil and beautifull scenery. So many geat places to visit from this idyllic cottage. The owners provided a wealth of local information and the welcoming home produce was a delight. A gorgeous well equpped cottage that we were sorry we had to leave.
December 2009
A very pleasant cottage in an intriguingly remote-feeling rural location, yet quite close to towns like Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Lovely bedroom looking out on the garden. The sitting room is a wee bit small, and there's not a lot of room for eating, though quite adequate for two people. it's a place we'd certainly think of going back to.
