An excellent 'away from it all' place to stay. It was very quiet with lots of space and if you want to go somewhere it's only 10 minutes from the M6.

Beautiful! The bedding and towels were neat and clean and it was very well equipped. It was so easy to get around and sightsee. It was peaceful. Perfect, one of the best houses we have ever stayed in. Thank you for having us.

This cottage was perfect for a family holiday with grandparents, with plenty of room and a huge garden for the children to play in and the added bonus of spotting red squirrels! We had a fantastic week despite the weather, the large utility room was kept busy! We hope to return again soon.

Lovely light and airy house but cosy at the same time. Perfect for two families, with enough space to be private, but large communal areas too. The location was spectacular, great for walking and exploring the Lake District as well as the Eden valley.

We liked the proximity of the Lakes as we enjoy walking on the hills and having time with children and grandchildren. Also the opportunity to relax and forget about work for a week. We had a splendid week in gorgeous surroundings and superb accommodation.

Excellent quality of the kitchen, dining area sitting rooms. The open log fire supply of logs kindling. There was a woodburning stove but we preferred the open fire. There was a very good central heating system. Watching the red squirrels in the garden adjacent wood.

This is more than a cottage. There is plenty of space for the nine people that can be accommodated. All of the rooms were well presented, clean and very comfortable. The view from the master bedroom en-suite across the fields and into the far distance is amazing. The cottage is well equipped to cater for all the needs we required. Instruction manuals for all appliances were provided - saving having to guess how to use various appliances, such as the cooker, microwave, washing machine etc. There was nothing the owners had not thought of, down to spare bulbs and batteries in case they were needed. This is not something that all owners provide. Local areas of beauty are in easy driving distance - Appleby, Maulds Meaburn, Windermere, UIllswater etc. There were many maps and current information leaflets provided. The owner left us to enjoy our holiday, but was on hand if there was anything we needed. We enjoy this no nonsense, no fuss approach to holiday rental and applaud the owners for trusting their visitors with their asset. The only negative was that we did not see any red squirrels while we were there, but I'm sure that if the owners thought that they could arrange this too they would have done. Well done Alison, Elizabeth and the team.

Town Head was both warm and welcoming, spacious and very comfortable. Everything you could need from an adult view point was provided. The cottage was a little out of the way, but there were walks from the door, and Keswick was only approximately a 35 minute drive away. Shap which is approximately 4 miles away, has a fish and chip shop, a Co-op for supplies. We found the Crown Inn to be friendly and supplied good basic food. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners. All in all we would love to return in the future. If you like log fires, star gazing, red squirrels and pheasant in the garden this is the place for you!

This was an excellent place for a group to get together, we could go for walks from the property and watch red squirrels. The large kitchen/dining/sitting area was very sociable, the fire had been lit for our arrival and we had good communication with the owner. The only problem we had was finding it in the dark!

We stayed as a group of 7 friends from 28th October to 4th November 2016. We all found this to be a comfortable and well-appointed holiday rental. The layout affords the opportunity for us all to be together (games, quizzes, breakfast etc.) but also having three lounge areas made it very flexible to use. The heating system kept the house lovely and warm although log-burning stoves are provided to supplement the heating if required. Clear instructions for the appliances were left available along with information about local walks, pubs, shops etc. This, along with the fact that a full range of kitchen and cleaning equipment was available suggested the owner had put a lot of thought into the property. It also has a pleasant garden surrounded by farm fields. There was a lot of wildlife in the garden including a fox, birds of many species and red squirrels. As a group we have stayed together in different parts of Cumbria at many locations over the years and we all agreed that this was up there with the best.
