True Well Hall Barn Cottage Family Cottage description

Holiday home
True Well Hall Barn Cottage is a barn conversion overlooking the owners' stables a mile from Oakworth, three miles from Haworth. The cottage has a king-size double and a twin room, a bathroom, kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with electric stove. Outside is off road parking for three cars and a shared front garden with lawn, patio and furniture. True Well Hall Barn Cottage makes an ideal retreat for families or couples to enjoy exploring Bronte Country, the Dales or just relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Area
Home to the famous Bronte sisters, the small village of Haworth and the surrounding moorland inspired the women to put pen to paper and to write what have now become classics of English literature. With its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets, there is a wonderful period atmosphere in this charming town set against the backdrop of countryside that would eventually be made famous in 'Wuthering Heights'. The Worth Valley Railway is also nearby and was used in the film 'The Railway Children'. Trips around the old village of Oxenhope on the wonderful steam trains make for a special day out whilst The Bronte Parsonage museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail all make equally good attractions whilst the market town of Skipton - often called the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales - is only a short drive away.

Region
From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

It exceeded my expectations. The accommodation was superb and in a lovely, picturesque, natural setting. My oldest daughter is a horse nut and the cottage was located adjoining a working stable and riding school. The local area is beautiful and provided my whole family with a welcome change from our usual lives in London. The owners of the cottage were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly with regard to my daughter's riding wishes. This stay ticked all the boxes for us. We will certainly return in future and I would warmly recommend the cottage to anyone.

We were made to feel very welcome at the cottage by the owners and it was lovely to be able to look out of the kitchen window and see the horses looking out of their stables. A very comfortable and clean cottage with everything we needed for a wonderfully relaxing holiday. We will return.

We had returned to True Well Hall because it was such a lovely, comfy cottage with a very warm welcome from the owners. Our daughter enjoyed being allowed to help with the horses each day and had a great day camp looking after the horses and having a riding lesson (we enjoyed a walk over Ilkley Moor while she was occupied). The cottage is well placed for lots of walks in Bronte Country (you can walk from the cottage door) and for interesting days out - we particularly enjoyed the Worth Valley steam train.

I enjoyed the location of the cottage. In the middle of the Dales but only a few miles from civilisation. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The people who owned the farm were very accommodating and I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful farmhouse.

We were delighted with our weekend break at True Well Hall Barn Cottage. The welcoming owners have taken such care and attention in equipping and maintaining it. The cottage is next to their stables and horses, with fantastic views over farmland and Bronte countryside beyond. We enjoyed our winter, windy walks from the farm to the moors, and the convenience of having Keighley not too far away, as well as the attractions of Haworth and Bolton Abbey to explore. We'd love to go back!

We had a really wonderful time at True Well Hall Barn Cottage. The cottage was lovely, very clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The surrounding countryside was stunning and my grandson absolutely loved the horses. I would definitely recommend the cottage to others and hopefully I will be able to spend another holiday there myself some time in the future. I was one hundred percent satisfied with my stay at the cottage. Thank you.

Excellent cottage, within a fantastic rural setting with great views across the valley. The working stables are a welcome added attraction for anyone, our Uncle was at home in the setting. Great welcome by the owners, nice touch with a bottle of milk in the fridge. Well worth a visit for anyone who likes open country living, great walks all round.

Had a wonderful week here at the start of the summer. Amazing views, wonderful friendly people and a great location. Lovely, comfortable accommodation. Horses on site. Lovely walks. Lots of interesting places to visit in the locality. I can recommend the Police Museum in Keighley.

We were delighted with our weekend break at True Well Hall Barn Cottage, and the warm hospitality of the owners who have paid so much care and attention to detail in equipping and maintaining it, not to mention providing welcoming touches like flowers and lovely biscuits. It could not have been more comfortable. The cottage is next to their stables and horses (riding lessons may be available), and with fantastic views over farmland and Bronte countryside beyond. We enjoyed our winter, windy walks from the farm to the moors, and the convenience of having Keighley not too far away, as well as the attractions of Haworth and Bolton Abbey to explore. This farm is irresistible - no wonder that an albino doe deer has made herself at home with the cows. We'd love to go back for longer too!

Stayed here EaSTeR weekend as we were up for a family wedding! Two couples and what a stunning property. Everything was in there that you needed, the doors are rather low so as my husband found out a few times head banging hurts! Lovely setting this is in, didn't think it was clear to find the property, need to turn at the sign that says riding stables! The lower sign is way low to see! Met the owners a few times and they were lovely! Outside is stables and horses and a fantastic view! If 1 negative it was very very cold in the middle of night! All in all a fantastic weekend we had! Thank you.

We had a very enjoyable and restful stay at True Well Hall Barn Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and was very well presented. My wife particularly enjoyed being able to watch the horses from the kitchen/diner at mealtimes. The owners are lovely, friendly and helpful people and the area is very picturesque with lots to see and do. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again or recommend it to our friends.

Two friends and myself rented this cottage for a week in October. We needed a comfortable place to relax at the end of each busy, adventure filled day, and we found it. Our hosts were so very kind and helpful. In fact, the various snippets of advice we received (On how to : get to Leeds without the headache of driving; and where to eat locally); made for an extra comfortable stay. It was a bit tricky finding the place at first (my Sat Nav had problems pinning it down), but a quick phone call led to us finding it fast, and receiving a warm welcome. What a lovely week we had! I'd love to return, next time I'm in this part of Yorkshire.
