I found the holiday very relaxing. I was delighted with the care and regard that the owner had put into making us welcome, I must say thank you. The cottage was cosy warm, very comfortable and the patio garden was delightful. The beds were a dream and so cosy. The standard was above excellent, a dream cottage. I hope to return again for another holiday here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage enormously. It was so cosy and clean with everything we needed. It was also evident that the owners had gone to a huge amount of effort to make it nice. Very impressed and highly recommended.

Liked the attention to detail, nothing more could have been there and there were lots of extras to make it a home from home. A delightful house.

Ty Kate is a fantastic cottage with all you could ask for and more. Beautifully done in every way, the owners should be proud! The area was also beautiful with fascinating industrial heritage and well placed for touring most of North Wales.

Ty Kate was charming and location was fabulous! We didn't need to use the car much as we mostly either walked or caught the Ffestiniog railway from Tanygrisiau station. The lake side cafe proved very useful! We live in an old cottage and have come home full of ideas for decorating!

A fantastic little cottage which was very nicely decorated, furnished and equipped. Owners had clearly gone to a lot of effort and had added some lovely touches. We had a perfect week with tons of walking and sightseeing, a fantastic area for outdoor activities and industrial history fans! We very highly recommended this cottage.

This cottage was exactly what we wanted and more than met our expectations, the bottle of wine and the chocolates were a very welcome gesture. This cottage is highly recommended for two adults and a child, the outside seating area was delightful and we made full use of it especially when the little train was going by, this started at about 12 noon and was once an hour until 5pm, if we come back to this area we will book it again. 5star all the way.

Without a doubt, the best cottage I've ever rented. Utterly idyllic, cosy, romantic - GORGEOUSLY fitted out with real taste and perfectly fitting its style. It has been stocked with absolutely everything you could possibly ever need or think of - from nail clippers to flasks, tupperwares, an impressive kitchenware range, books, DVDs, games etc. What really made it stand out though was the fact you got the impression the owners really cared about you having a good time. When we arrived (in the pouring rain and freezing cold!) we found that the fire had already been laid up for us, meaning all we had to do was light it (which was very welcome). They haven't cheaped out in kitting it out - it's all lovely, high quality stuff, even down to the cafetiere. And there was some truly lovely touches, like telling guests they are welcome to take home one of the books if they don't manage to finish it whilst on holiday, or a cross stitch piece if they made one. We truly couldn't praise it enough. For us the absolute icing on the cake was that we were rather delayed in exiting the cottage (due to an inordinate amount of stuff to pack into the car) and the owners didn't hassle us, or make us feel worse than we were already feeling - they kindly went for a spin round the block for half an hour until we were done, which was very gracious of them. It really was brilliant, and was a huge factor in us having a wonderful holiday!

We fell in love with the place! The cottage is in a quiet, non-touristy area where you could start a hike right from the front door. Mount Snowdon is a short drive away and the steam train station is only a 25 mins walk into town. The cottage itself is cozy and full of everything you'll need. Its perfect.

We stayed her for 3nights and I have to say..... It's beautiful. We were greeted with a welcome card, wine and chocolates (which we enjoyed next to the log fire ) Perfect location for exploring snowdonia in a quaint little town. The cottage is beautiful and the owners have thought about pretty much everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful break away here and would recommend to everyone. The cottage is beautiful inside, it reminded me of a gorgeous little dolls house! I really am sad to be home:-(

This is a small and cosy cottage in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. It's perfectly located for exploring the whole of the park and North Wales. It's near to all the major routes, also the train and bus links were excellent. The nearby town of Blaenau Ffestiniog had a few restaurant options to offer, although the cottage was so excellently kitted out with everything we needed (especially the kitchen) that we stayed in almost every evening, we even made a huge roast dinner on the first night! There were plenty of thoughtful touches around the cottage that made it easy to settle in immediately and feel at home, although without all the usual distractions, which was a relief! The woodburning stove was perfect and necessary on the wet days! And there was a washer/dryer too which we used to refresh our walking gear. One of the best walks of our trip was up behind the cottage; a very interesting walk with some great views and surprises! We loved the overall feel of the house and enjoyed our stay immensely.
