Wayfarers Cottage was just what we expected and was a comfortable retreat for us over Christmas. It would be great to come back and be able to enjoy more of the surrounding countryside.

Liked the location of the cottage and the quality of the furnishings and equipment. Lots of little extras were provided which made it a real home from home and a pleasure to return to after busy days exploring the beautiful area. Often on foot along the canal towpath and walks direct from cottage.

A lovely comfortable cottage with very helpful owners and neighbours. The cottage was furnished to a good standard with lovely finishing touches such as milk in the fridge on arrival. There's even a shed for drying and hosing down boots or cycles and pets are welcome. The area is great too, lots of lovely walks nearby and good restaurants, we can heartily recommend.

The kitchen in the cottage was superb it had a wonderful view of the hills and countryside and it was literally a 30 second walk to the local pub and canal, which provided many locations to walk to.

I don't know what the tourist board grade this property is but it must be the highest grade. The cottage was perfect for us. Every need was catered for; the kitchen was fully equipped, the lounge was very comfortable, bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathroom perfect. We were able to walk from the cottage to the canal basin and further on to villages on the tow path. We had a great time and would highly recommend this cottage to others, in fact when we go to the Peak District again we will look for this cottage first!

Excellent location. We could go for long or short walks directly from the cottage. Ideal for our dog. Good pub 30 yards away which was very welcoming, served good beer and served food all day. Also they welcomed our dog.

Excellent value for money. Perfect location for walking and exploring locally and for driving a little further afield. Excellent hostelry on the doorstep. No local shop but Tesco only 15 minute walk on the canal or a short drive. Beautifully maintained and furnished cottage and the owner contacted us shortly after our arrival to check all OK. Excellent all round package.

I feel that this cottage is more for young people, as at 60+ climbing on a chair to open high windows was not good, also the shower was quite dangerous with 6" step in out out with no hand rail, the separate wc was very small indeed, impossible to even sit properly on the wc. The bedrooms were ok, very comfortable beds. The kitchen was adequate, everything in it you would need, table for 4 to eat at. Lounge was quite a drab dark room, with 2 two seater sofa's, one was a sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable. The courtyard garden was in fact a shared courtyard with 2 other cottages, very unhappy with that as we had our dog with us, and was unable to let him out there in case other people left gate onto road open. Other people had left comments in visitors book, but obviously they don't seem to think this important enough to change description. Cottage was also not cleaned very well, dust everywhere in lounge, kitchen sink had an old dishcloth tucked in drainer. Luckily the location was excellent so we still enjoyed our holiday, but wouldn't return to this property.

Cosy cottage in Buxworth clean and well equiped. perfect for walkers or cyclist's with secure bike storage very handy. walks from your door. Canal walks were lovely and longer walks up onto the hills were all close by from buxworth or a short drive away. Local pub in the village and a tesco and other shops and takeaways a short drive away at whaley bridge. Walking along the canal to whaley bridge was easy too. Our dog loved this holiday very dog friendly area. Lots of families cycling along the canal and the tram way and sett valley trail.

We had a very happy week in this lovely cottage in Buxworth. The warm welcome on our arrival set the tine for the week. Everything was perfect - bar the locality's very slow internet connection!

We spent a week in this lovely cottage and couldn't have wished for a more comfortable stay. The cottage has been thoughtfully modernised and has very good quality fittings and furnishings. There were lots of little extras which really did make it a home from home. The location was ideal with The Navigation Pub at the bottom of the lane at Buxworth Canal Basin. We enjoyed walks into Chinley along the Tram Way and to Whaley Bridge along the canal. It was a lovely base to return back to after exploring the surrounding Peak District and Derbyshire Dales. There were lots of suggestions for days out and places to visit in the guest book and we can understand why there were many repeat bookings. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and thank the owners for their welcoming bottle of wine and loan of their cottage.
