Weaver's Cottage Family Cottage description

Holiday home
Weaver's Cottage is a stone-built, terraced cottage situated in the market town of Skipton, known as The Gateway to the Dales. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of one double and one twin, as well as a main bathroom. Also at this property there is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburning stove. Outside there is roadside parking and a small rear yard with outdoor furniture. Weaver's Cottage is an ideal holiday home for those that wish to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and many other delightful places that can be found in the area.

The town of Skipton, known as The Gateway to the Dales offers a castle, a colourful market, which occupies the cobbled setts to each side of the high street, and in 2008 the Academy of Urbanism voted the High Street the best shopping spot in Britain. Also there is the whole of the Yorkshire Dales National Park to explore, as well as nearby Grassington and Harrogate.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

We particularly liked the location to Skipton amenities and the availability of public transport nearby. There was good parking near the cottage.

The cottage is located in a quiet, peaceful street very close to the town and some excellent walks so our car had a holiday as well. We would come back again tomorrow!

It was wonderfully placed for walking into Skipton, and parking outside the property was no problem. It was beautifully decorated with everything you needed. Would definitely book this one again. Many Thanks.

In a great location, only 5 minutes walk into town centre. A quiet area. Had excellent facilities and bathroom.

An ideal location to Skipton town, all within walking distance so the car could be left parked all week in front of the property. There were plenty of places to visit with ideal eateries close by. I would thoroughly recommend Weaver's Cottage, lovely accommodation and an ideal location. It was peaceful considering it was so close to town, couldn't have asked for more.

The cottage is quite central and about 7-8 minutes on foot from the High Street and the bus station, using a short cut along the railings above the beck. It is a cosy cottage, in a terrace, having a small paved garden in front and a pleasant secluded little patio at the back, with a table and chairs. As the weather was fine during my week there, it was good to be able to sit outside in the sun.

The cottage was even better than expected. There was everything included so we really didn't need to take anything from home. I would have no hesitation recommending this cottage to anyone.

Cottage was as described, spotlessly clean, perfect location in a residential area just a few minutes walk from town. Cottage felt like a home rather than just a 'to let' property, very good quality fixtures and fittings. WiFi easy to connect and great speed. The little enclosed patio at the back was a lovely place to chill with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Public transport throughout the area is exceptional. Sykes Cottages and the caretaker of the property delivered a first class service.

A lovely property in a great central location, very handy for town centre amenities which are just a 5 minute walk away.

We had a very good holiday re-visiting places we had been before (Hawes Aysgarth etc). We also enjoyed seeking out new places to visit and the cottage was very well positioned close to the centre of Skipton with most places within the town reachable on foot. Skipton was also well served by buses enabling us to take pleasant trips to local towns.

A interesting historic cottage close to amenities and shops with easy access to local countryside and attractions. Good view of the Tour de France and great atmosphere and crowd control. Also loved the local enthusiasm all around the town and countryside.

The cottage had a homely feel to it which made it easy to switch off and relax. There was plenty of room for parking on the road outside the property. I liked that the cottage was close to town so we were able to walk in and not use the car and that even though it was near the town it was still in a quiet area. Everything you could need was in the cottage so there was no need to carry lots of extras from home.

Just as described, very comfortable, clean, and convenient to village. Host allowed us a slightly early check in on first day because we were visiting Yarndale festival that morning. No issues with heat or hot water. Bath was very nice, modern. Beds comfortable. Internet was useful, TV OK, wood burner a nice addition. The town was a joy. It was our first visit to Yorkshire. Took public transportation to all our sites... York, Bolton Abbey, Manchester. Great vacation all around.
