Asterton is a rural hamlet situated on the slopes of the Long Mynd Hills, 5 miles from the town of Church Stretton. The area was just perfect and so beautiful! Just what the doctor ordered for a lovely long Easter break. The lovely walks for our dog were so fantastic right there on the door step, and the lady that owned the building was very welcoming and ever so helpful, we loved the log burner in the chilly evenings, and the traditional local pubs had so much to offer food wise. All in all a wonderful stay!

The barn was in a beautiful location and it completely suited our needs for the week. The owner and her family welcomed us warmly and we felt very comfortable there, having the use of the garden area outside the barn too. We'd happily return here and look forward to doing so.

Had a very friendly and helpful owner. The property is in a terrific location, right by the Long Mynd and is easily found with directions. The accommodation was warm and cosy, and there are lots of lovely villages and towns in this beautiful part of the country.

The location of the cottage is fantastic, nestled away in glorious countryside. The owner is clearly passionate about the area and was cheerful and helpful when contacted. Although she lives close you are left to your own devices. We will be back.

Very friendly and helpful but non intrusive owner. Very relaxed atmosphere. Super dog friendly. Wonderful location in hamlet - very rural. Just under the Long Mynd and within easy reach of pubs, shop and Church Stretton and Bishop's Castle. Great for walkers.

It is a fantastic base for a walking holiday. The Barn is set in a very picturesque rural location but with easily accessible major roads. There are also a couple of pubs fairly close by that serve very good, reasonably priced food. The host, who lives on the same site, was very friendly, approachable and helpful but also discreet. I can highly recommend a stay at Willow Brook Barn.

Fantastic scenery, isolated, away-from-it-all atmosphere of the hamlet of Asterton at the foot of the wonderful Long Mynd, the wildlife. Good walking straight from the door with easy access to Shrewsbury and interesting little towns eg Church Stretton, close to Wales. Friendly people.

A really lovely barn in the nicest location we've ever stayed in - the scenery was stunning and the area amazingly peaceful and unspoilt. We went with our cocker spaniel, and the barn and garden is really dog friendly, and even came with a resident lab friend for him! There are walks up the Mynd straight from the front door, and a great pub just within walking distance which does delicious food.

Willow Brook Barn is in a beautiful location just tucked under the Longmynd in Shopshire. We were initially a little worried about staying in a cottage that is in the gardens of the owner, but Cath was absolutely brilliant. She was relaxed, friendly and good humoured as our three dogs ran about the garden. She also knows all the best pubs for dinner! The cottage is a great size and very comfortable (with wifi so I could work if needed) and is perfect for dog owners. The only thing that would have been nice is some larger bath towels but this is a minor quibble. Also be aware if your dog likes sheep Shropshire is full of them. We bought a great book called 'Shropshire a dog walkers guide ' by Judy Smith which was brilliant at pointing out the best and safest dog walks in the area. A great place for a holiday!

We were made wonderfully welcome. Small touches like tea, coffee and milk were waiting for us. Very dog friendly, humans too! Wonderful walks and scenery. I had not realised how beautiful and interesting Shropshire is. Excellent folder with local attractions, walks and directions plus an OS map of the area. Why not try Gliding whist you are there? Club at the top of the hill. We will be returning.

The barn was comfortable and the owner welcoming and helpful. It is right under the Long Mynd with country walks from the door. A tiny stream runs along outside. Apart from expected and welcome country sounds such as sheep, cows,a cockerel and the odd tractor it was very peaceful indeed and a good base from which to enjoy local places of interest.

Staying at willow brook Barn was just what was needed. a beautiful shropshire location with friendy people where ever we went. the barn was perfect with two bedrooms. the master room was quiet and comfortable which was hard to get out of because it was so easy to sleep in.With only the noise of the stream running by the barn to listern to when we woke up. The living room and kitchen are open plan so we could talk and relax together in the morning. The owner Cath was a perfect host, supplying a fresh cake and bottle of wine on our arrival. The log burner was something we found very romantic having a real fire on winters nights with loads of logs avalible to keep us warm. The accomadation we could nt fault and if we needed any extras we had only to ask the owner Cath would could not do enough for us. The country side was amazing and we lost count of the walks we took over the long myn and cardingmill valley area. places to eat were everywhere local pubs were friendly and warm to us and in the end it was hard to leave and we are already planning our next visit. Thank you and see you soon. the most spectacular being an early morning walk to church stretton and watching the sun come up over the rolling hill sides as far as you could see.

What an amazing country lovers dream. Being dog friendly and right at the base of the Long Mynd this really is fabulous walking territory or simply a quiet retreat wether you take the kids or not there is loads to do. With a log burner and all amenities you could need, it would be hard not to feel right at home. There is a great pub in the village which does traditional country pub grub from Shropshire grown produce, which is delicious. Catherine was a warm and helpful hostess and nothing was too much trouble. The only problem we had was that I didn't book it for longer.
