Winnie's is a charming cottage nestled in the heart of this famous picture postcard Dorset coastal village. Portesham lies below the spectacular escarpment of Black Down and was immortalised in Thomas Hardy's Wessex novels. Located around a one mile walk from Chesil Beach it is also convenient for the County town of Dorchester, the seaside resort of Weymouth or the market town of Bridport as well as the entire Jurassic Coast. The equally pleasant neighbouring village of Abbotsbury, with its swannery and abbey, is a leisurely 40 minute level walk along the disused railway branch or a few minutes' drive away. Here you will find quaint tea shops, a local shop, craft shops and small galleries. Winnie's is perfect for a couple or small family; ideally located in Dorset, cosy in winter with a log burning stove in the lounge, and in the summer the tiered garden with patio and lawn is perfect for alfresco dining or a refreshing drink after a day out exploring. In the village visit the village duck pond and stream in Back Street, where geese and ducks are around to be fed. The local village pub is a short walk away.Accommodation: Front door into: Lounge/Diner with wood burning stove. Kitchen with stairs to first floor: Bedroom 2, single bed.
