Many walking routes are within easy reach, as well as a path up to Mount Snowdon and Beddgelert Forest on the doorstep. The summit of the Welsh Highland Steam Railway line is just by the entrance to the farm at Rhyd Ddu, where you can hop on and visit the county town of Caernarfon, with its castle, leisure centre and golf club; Beddgelert with riverside walks and a selection of amenities, and Porthmadog, ‘the gateway to Snowdonia’.
