The whole experience was fantastic! The cottage was extremely well appointed, spotless, and very comfortable, light and airy. The owners had thought of everything and nothing was any trouble at all, they were very accommodating and particularly helpful with regards to their local knowledge of the area. The cottage location was absolutely perfect; away from traffic with views of rolling hills, hardly another property in sight, and with a number of walks straight from the cottage. We only needed to go out in the car to restock provisions. We have stayed at quite a number of cottages over the years and this one outweighs them all by far.

First-class accommodation. Immaculate and everything catered for. There wasn't anything that wasn't supplied. Felt like a home away from home. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We felt sad to be leaving and would most definitely like to return and would recommend highly to friends or family. Couldn't have asked for more!

The standard of the accommodation was excellent. The owners provided a holiday home which covered every need for a comfortable, warm and friendly stay. Everything in the house was of quality, good taste, and well thought out to make their guests comfortable. Friendly advice was given with regard to outings, and the views across the pastures with the mother ewes and their lambs added to the overall relaxing ambience. All in all this is a perfect spot to explore the beautiful landscape of North Wales.

An exceptionally well equipped, decorated and clean cottage. Everything you need is available, all you need to take is yourself and food of course. A tranquil setting where you are surrounded by fields with scope for plenty of walks. In a good location for touring North Wales. The owners and family make you very welcome and are always on hand if you need them. This is definitely a 5 Star property.

Over the past 12 years we have taken approx 4 cottage holidays a year, and this cottage and setting rate as one of the best. The owners could not have done any more to make our stay as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. If there was a 6 star rating I would award it to them.

From the moment we arrived at Y Stabal we were taken aback at the standard of the cottage. The layout was perfect and deceptively spacious. Every single detail has been considered throughout and we honestly couldn't find fault with anything. Just as impressive is the amount of land surrounding you. You can easily spend 2-3 hours making your way across the farmland down to the river (make sure to take a picnic and binoculars for Buzzard spotting). The location of Y Stabal is perfect as you are never too far away from the tourist attractions. If it's peace and quiet you are after and great scenery, then look no further. We were very sad to leave but are definitely trying to book again next year.

This cottage is excellent, spacious and had everything you could need, all of very high quality and very clean. The owner was very friendly with lots of helpful advice on things to do, places to see, walks in the area etc. The location is excellent, very quiet and beautiful scenery, but still accessible to Chester, Shrewsbury, Wrexham and the west coast of wales. We would definitely return in the future and would recommend.

The property was in a lovely rural location but within reach of a village shop for papers etc. The cottage itself was equipped and decorated to a very high standard . The owners were very friendly and helpful, but left us to enjoy the cottage without being intrusive, but if we had needed anything any time day or night they said they were available which was very good.

We had a wonderful week, everything was lovely, scenery, location and everything you needed and more was there. The owners very helpful and kind; my grandson loved seeing the lambs and calves that had been born while we were there. Milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine very thoughtful after a long drive. I would recommend the Y Stabal to anyone. Thank you.

This is a fantastic cottage in a beautiful area. We were amazed at how well equipped the cottage was and extremely grateful for the supplies left in the cottage for our arrival. Having three boys aged between eleven and sixteen, the games room and wi-fi were great. We would definitely book again.

Everything was absolutely spot-on. The owners are always at hand if needed, but not overpowering. The position of the property is close enough to many local areas of interest. All in all there was nothing that could be improved on.

Very well presented with everything you could want, and a lot of nice touches. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended by us, family of 5 with 3 teenage boys. Games room a big bonus to keep the boys entertained.

This was possibly the best cottage we have stopped in over the last 15 years - the attention to detail was incredible. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard and the owners have pretty much thought of every item you need in it. You could just about move in and not feel that you were short of anything!

I booked this cottage for my Wife's 65th Birthday with our 2 Daughters and Partners. Looking at the reviews it had already had, I thought that it looked like it was right for us. When we arrived we emptied the cars and went into the property, having arranged key collection with the owner in advance. When we opened the front door, we were all absolutely taken back by the fantastic decor. The rooms were all beautifully designed and decorated, the Bathroon and en-suit were all very moden and spotless as was the whole cottage. The kitchen was good enough to be on the television on "Mastercook" with all the untensils etc etc. As a welcome pack there was a bottle of wine, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter and to be honest, all that you might need to live there for at least 5 days without buying anything else. This has got to be one if not the best cottages for rent in North Wales for up to 6 people. I would recomend this cottage to anyone, looking for a 5 star accomodation. Last but not least the owners, who live opposite to the cottage, could not do anymore to be of help, should you need anything. This place made my wife's Birthday a great one.

A very nice property. The equipment, especially in the kitchen was the best we have experienced in the UK. Knives were sharp (not often the case in rentals), and the pans and pots were 100% ideal for rather picky people like us and our friends. I don't think there was a single item of equipment missing or of a poor quality which is a credit to the owners (they love in the house opposite). The woodburner in the lounge gave a rather comfortable and homely feel, particularly as we listened to the October rain slapping against the windows. We were warm and very content in every room. In the summer, with a nice glass of wine, I think that it would be difficult to venture far from the cottage. We did have a difficulty with the WiFi, but the owner sorted this out (a problem with the WiFi service provider - we've all been there haven't we ???) and seemed upset that our brief break had been disrupted. I think we would have liked an additional shower in the property somewhere, but as we all know each other well, sharing the en-suite shower (at different times !!!) was not really an issue. The welcome pack with teas, coffee and wine was nice to have. There are very good walks close by and an extremely friendly community pub (the Raven Inn) in the nearby village. The community also runs a little shop there. We ate at the three Pigeons (I have disgraced myself by spelling this incorrectly in the visitors' book). Again, this was a friendly place with excellent portions and choice of food. Impressive beers. I don't know why we should have been surprised, but the clients of the pub said hello to us when we arrived, which was smashing and made us feel welcome for the whole of the evening.

This really is the most gorgeous place to stay. The building is beautifully stylish and furnished very tastefully. Everything has been thought of and we even had a game to try and find something they'd forgotten - we failed! We had a lovely welcome with some great basics supplied including a couple of bottles of wine. It is very peaceful here apart from the occasional sheep and the foxes, my daughter watched them out of the window as they played in the garden. Ruthin is 20 mins drive through a forest and has a great tapas bar, big supermarket and a brilliant craft centre.
