The cottage was well kitted out, homely and clean. A brilliant location in a small coastal town of Harlech.

The house was cosy comfortable and we liked the fact that we could see the sea from the house. The house had everything that a family might need from books to DVDs.

We love staying in Harlech and this cottage was based in a good location in the town. The cottage was beautiful and had a lovely view of the sea. We found this cottage to be the perfect base for our holiday.

i traveled to Wales with some friends for an active week away, the location of this property is perfect as described only a short walk from the beatch and ,it's of lovely shops including the best Icecream I've ever tried ! Both of the double bedrooms had amazing views down to the coast, we found the house to be set just far enough out of the way to avoids all of the crowds of tourists. The house was well equipped with all essential items clean and ready to use , we ran in to a few issues with clothing storage, the owner leaves a note saying she is not a fan of wardrobes and their for dose not have them, instead you are all (up to six people ) are expected to store you clothes in a communal wardrobe in the main bathroom. This was on except it had less than 10 coat hangers. WE then tried to store out clothes in the draws under the bed however we found these to be full of someone's clothes already !. The property is clean but cluttered, i believe the owner lives at the property when not in use. Our other concerns are the misleading parking description, extra parking (as advised to use by the owner ) is around a mile away from the house however to access the car park you must walk up a very steep muddy overgrown dark hill making it largely implausible to use. Also as said above by other reviews the owner DOSE most deffently live at the house making privacy a issue, we had people walking past our back door looking into the property. The owner stayed in the annex ( attached to the hose ) for three of our seven night stay. Overall the saving grace fro this house is its peacefully location not to far from all of the local attractions and amazing views. I would rent this house again. Mr Racher

The house is in a great location - nice little town, great beach, fantastic walking around Snowdonia (try the Rhinogs if you ilke seclusion - just as beautiful as the rest of the area but very few people around!). On the plus side for the house it is well equipped and warm, sofa and beds were comfy, the owner seemed helpful and accommodating and the 'important' bits (sinks, toilets, baths, cooker, bed coverings etc) were spotless. On the downside the rest of the house was clean and maintained in the way your own home might be clean and maintained, but not in the way I would expect a holiday let to be (so - a great set of cobwebs in the main bedroom, dust gathering on the many shelves of books around the house, broken bath panel, shower curtain rail now rusting away and unused as there is a screen instead etc, odd small marks around the kitchen from food splatters...) - so nothing a major problem as such but it doesn't seem that a professional does the cleaning here! And parking could very definitely be a problem - although only once for us while we were there. This is the second time we've rented a cottage through Sykes and the second time the details have been a bit misleading - again nothing dramatically wrong but I do feel they do a bit of an estate agent job on the details rather than an honest appraisal (and so we won't be booking through them again! ). So, despite what it says on the Sykes website:- 1. the owner (as the previous reviewer said) very definitely DOES live onsite (I suspect in the main house when it isn't rented out), 2. the 'enclosed patio area' is a shared access route to other houses, it's stretching it to call it a patio area and the nice bit is right outside the owner's apartment so on the two occasions we might have sat outside to eat (this is Wales after all!!) we didn't feel we could as we knew she was there 3. the beach is 20 minutes walk away (as it says on the info sheet in the cottage!) not 10 mins... All in all I would have to say I think that the peak season price we paid was too much for a house in this condition without really usable outside space and so I would only really recommend it in off-season when it is more reasonably priced and you wouldn't expect to be outside anyway!

Harlech was beautiful, lovely secluded beach where we witnessed a stunning sunset... Local pub was very cosy and welcoming and we even met Lord Harlech in there and just a small walk to the castle... Very steep to walk up to the house so a car is needed as it kills your legs... The house itself was lovely and clean and great views from the bedroom bedroom window, Downfall is the owner lives in back garden in a converted stable so its not that private, other than that we had a fantastic holiday...
