July 2016
The cottage was lovely, the view out of window from living room was fabulous. The owners were very friendly and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. And it is only a 10-15 minute walk through the village to a lovely beach. It is the first place we have stayed at that we will definitely come back to.

February 2015
Excellent value, clean and well equipped accommodation. The owners were really friendly and could not do enough to help. The kitchen was well equipped and everything you could need was supplied. There were plenty of towels supplied and the beds were really comfy. This is very much a home from home and we would highly recommend. The beaches in the area are fantastic and this is a perfect place to explore the area. We honestly cannot fault Ysgubor!

July 2015
Once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay; right from the booking, to arriving at Ysgubor and being greeted by the owners who are so welcoming and helpful, as always it was a lovely peaceful/restful holiday! It's like a home from home with a different view and so many places to visit. Have booked again, roll on next year!

June 2015
We've stayed at Ysgubor quite a few times now, and I could easily wax lyrical about it. However, I think the fact that we keep going back is worth more than words, and the Other Half summed it up perfectly about half way through our week. Looking happily around the living room, he said, We could live here easily, couldn't we? I'd just been thinking exactly the same thing. It's perfect.
Mrs Hackett
March 2014
We really liked sitting and looking out of the big picture window, watching the weather and how it seemed to make the scenery change every day, the birds, the new lambs. A very relaxing place and so good to have such a fantastic beach nearby. Great walks from the front door, too.
Mrs Sellar
April 2014

This is our third time staying at Ysgubor. We love the accommodation, location of the barn and the surrounding area. The owners are such lovely people, very welcoming and they cannot do enough to make your feel at home. I always feel sad to leave, but look forward to our next visit to Ysgubor.

May 2014
The owners gave us a very warm-hearted welcome and are very likeable, friendly and helpful. The cottage was very clean, very comfortable and nothing is missing. It is very lovingly furnished and decorated. The surrounding area is really very beautiful. The close proximity to the mountains, the sea, the sights and the town Harlech is ideal. We enjoyed our visit in Wales and this cottage so much that we will definitely book the cottage again for next year.
Mrs Dippold
October 2014
We had two wonderful weeks with fabulous sunshine and enjoyed the cottage, the surrounding an the beautiful beach very much. The owners gave us such a warm welcome so we are sure to come back. Our children and our dog took a bath in the Atlantic Sea every day (the temperature did not matter) and we relaxed during long walks at the beach. I can recommend this cottage to everyone looking for a quiet stay in wonderful surroundings near a calm beach!
Mr Chesterman
July 2014
A fabulous and cleverly designed Ysgubor (Welsh for Barn) conversion retaining some original features. A Tardis on the inside, furnished and decorated to a particularly high standard. Because of the landscape and the upside down accommodation from the rear of the property, the living area is elevated and the bedrooms are intriguingly semi subterranean. The terraced lawns were beautiful, with views to the sea from the picnic table and dramatic mountain views from the large picture window which interestingly changed with the weather. Courtesy was second to none, only needed to unpack clothes, toiletries and food, most, if not all (or more!) of life's essentials were provided. It was spotlessly clean, I hope we left it to a reasonable standard. The owners certainly have a passion for this property, being only next door they are on hand for any advice or problems, yet leave you alone to enjoy your holiday, a massive thank you to them!
Mrs Hosegood
April 2013
The location was excellent and the owners extremely helpful and friendly.

Overall very happy with the property, location and help from the owners. Would recommend to others, and are considering returning next year.
Mr Amos
September 2013
This was the best of the three cottages we rented in the UK. Good bathroom with great shower pressure, glass shower door, and wonderful view of the surroundings. Large kitchen with dishwasher, separate dining room. Owners were very helpful in explaining heat system, and giving advice on the area. They even got information for us on a male choir practice which was absolutely wonderful. We would love to go back. No wonder they are booked up far in advance.
Mr Hawkins
March 2013
Beautiful location, warm comfortable accommodation with friendly owners.
Miss Goddard-Bell
October 2013
This was our third visit to Ysgubor, and the best yet. We live and work in the hustle and bustle of central Cardiff, so to go somewhere so beautiful, so peaceful, so quiet and so tranquil gives us a real boost. We love the walk from Llandanwg beach up to Harlech (but watch the tides!) and to have no neighbours except sheep is bliss. Having said that, the owners of Ysgubor live next door, and cannot be faulted. Warm, welcoming and friendly, they're on hand if you need them and not to be seen if you don't! It's wonderful.
Mrs Mansbridge
June 2013

Our second time here! Beautiful, comfortable accommodation in a great location. North Wales in December can be a lottery but the cottage is a real little sanctuary for us and our dogs - this time we were blessed with 5 days of blue skies and walking on the local beaches, estuaries and hills is wonderful.
Mrs Swift

Nice quiet area, only a short walk to the train station so we didn't need to use the car everyday. The area was lovely with great walks on some wonderful beaches. The people who we met were very friendly and willing to explain the Welsh names and how to pronounce them. The owners only lived next door and were very friendly.
Mrs Wood
April 2012
Very well maintained furnished cottage in beautiful surroundings. Cottage was well equipped with thoughtful extras such as board games and plenty of books. Nearby beach at Llandanwg was about 15 min walk away and Harlech is about 10 min drive away and cottage is well situated for exploring Snowdonia National Park. Owners are next door and are very helpful and friendly.

A superb character cottage within Snowdonia National Park and an excellent base to explore North West Wales. We whre very impressed with the quality and location of the property. The owners were very welcoming and very helpful. The nearby beach was perfect as was the nearby town of Harlech, offering a wide range of food outlets and interesting places to visit. Our dog enjoyed the lovely walks and the long sandy beach. June 2014
We stayed in Wales (and UK) first time. The owners gave us a very warm-hearted welcome and are very likeable, friendly and helpful. As English is not our mother tongue and we do not speak the language fluently, unfortunately, it was very pleasant that the owners spoke slowly and clearly. So there were no communication problems. The cottage was very clean, very comfortable and nothing is missing. It is very lovingly furnished and decorated. The surrounding area is really very beautiful. The close proximity to the mountains, the sea, the sights and the town Harlech is ideal. We enjoyed our visit in Wales and our stay at this cottage so much that we already booked the cottage again for our vacation next May. Mrs. Brockschmidt, Osnbrueck/Bornum , Germany

October 2014
Very easy to find as is visible from main road. A stunning barn conversion although it is only the recessed part, not the whole of the building. Despite this, it is a real "Tardis" on the inside, finished to a high contemporary style, very comfortably furnished, well equipped and easy to keep clean. Dramatic views of the mountains which seemed to change with the weather from the large picture window and sea views from the picnic table on the top terraced lawn. Shared Wi-fi is available with the owners next door but not advertised as can be unpredictable. Courtesy was second to none, more than life's essentials were provided, only unpacked clothes, personal toiletries and food. A short stroll through the village to the "people friendly" beach (they only have a small designated area!), the rest, and the nature reserve, dogs are permitted, it is possible to do a circular walk to Harlech beach, not for the faint-hearted as it includes crossing the rail track and a steep climb but worth it for the breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Not a lot to do in immediate area so a car is pretty essential although it is close to publc transport but makes a wonderful touring base.
Mrs James
July 2010
Fabulous setting, fabulous accommodation. Great place to see lots in the surrounding areas. The owners were truly welcoming and lovely. Liked watching the farm carry on about its business. The sunsets!

September 2016
We stayed here for a week and after the first day wished we had booked for two weeks. This modern barn conversion is in an ideal position. The beach is just down the road and Harlech and Barmouth are not far away. Barmouth can be reached by the train that stops in the station nearby. The barn itself is very comfortable and the views from the sitting room are by far the best we have had from any holiday home. The owners live next door and could not be more pleasant. We even received a tray with tea, milk and cake when we arrived. We will be returning for sure. Highly recommended.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in,and we have stayed in a lot. Perfect location with lovely views, peace and quiet, it was very comfortable and clean too.The beautiful beach is nearby which was a big plus as we had our dog with us. The owners live next door and were most helpful and very friendly. Greatly recommend this gem of a find!

January 2011
I can not recommend this property more highly. The location was excellent, 10 minutes walk with our dog to the beach, which was so empty and clean. Harlech was 5 minutes in the car, with a good selection of take aways, who wants to cook on their hols and the most magnificent castle... The propert was clean, tidy and laid out lovely with everything one needed for a hasel free holiday. The owners , who live next door, where so nice and helpful. All in all, a fantastic quiet relaxing break with great walks and even though the weather was a bit wet, it was in October, the views where fantastic. We have already recomended it to our friends and will be going back there too.

Well maintained modern barn conversion ideally located for those who like a restful break in peaceful surroundings. Close to the sea with an exellent beach walk. Lots of inland routes to take for cycling or walking. It's just a pity that the pub isn't within walking distance but you can't have everything. The owners live next door and are happy to give whatever help you need. We arrived to find a tea tray with cakes ready for us! We will be back.

September 2010
A very well appointed cottage, the upside down accommodation gave us lovely views of the surrounding countryside while sitting relaxing in the evening. Although it was July we had half a week of rain, but it was a lovely cottage just to relax in and play board games with the children. Within walking distance of a lovely sandy dog friendly beach and a circular walk took us up to Harlech for a well deserved cream tea. Would make an excellent base at any time of the year.

We were welcomed by Mrs Roberts (the owner)on arrival, with a sincere cheerful manner. The cottage was clean, fresh and supplied with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. The views from the lounge window were tranquil and beautiful. We were there in spring and all the new lambs were hopping round the field. The location provided a nice stroll down to the lovely beach which has a local cafe (in high season). Harlech Castle and the seaside town of Barmouth were within easy driving distance. We liked everything about the cottage and location and being able to take the dog was a great plus for us. I couldn't fault a thing! Would definately return.
